Since Melbourne Cup day the rumors have been circulating pretty heavily. NRL and Cowboys star Jonathan Thurston looks to be pretty smitten with high profile celebrity Tania Zaetta. The Rugby League pin-up boy was previously dating girlfriend Nicky Suey - but seems to have moved on from the old flame.
When questioned; the pair simply said they are ‘good friends’ - who hang-out together but the body language from recent outings seems to tell a different story.
The biggest talking point of the new couple is their age difference. Tania Zaetta; the former star of Channel 7’s “Who Dares Wins!” in the mid-1990’s and more recently a feature of India’s ‘Bollywood’ Film scene - is 12 years older than NRL star Jonathan Thurston.

Ashley Harrison leaves Roosters

Ashley Harrison wasn’t hanging around to see how things panned out at the Roosters. Amidst all the Willie Mason signing talks at Bondi; the journey man forward snuffed out a deal with the Gold Coast Titans - securing his future for the next 3 years and putting a rest to any concern of him being a victim of a personnel clean out at the Roosters.
The move seems to be a smart one for the former Queensland Origin forward. Returning to his home base of Queensland, Ashley Harrison can focus on getting back to his best form. After leaving the Broncos several years ago to join the South Sydney Rabbitohs resurgence, the hard working forward has struggled to find top gear after joining the Roosters recently. Harrison seemingly got caught in the coaching merry-go-round at Bondi, while playing well under Ricky Stuart - he seemed to be on the outer with Chris Anderson and spent plenty of time coming off the bench early in 2007.
With his future now sured up, Harrison can really roll the sleeves up and will not only strive to get his own form into top gear - but will add some depth to the injury prone Titans pack.
At the Roosters; the coast is now very clear to make a decent tilt at Willie Mason. The Harrison move has seemingly freed up $250,000 in play money for the Bondi club and now gives Nick Politis and his team more ammo to gun hard for Willie Mason. It had to happen. Willie Mason has been offered serious cash to walk away from the NRL and set up shop in the UK Super League. Bulldogs bad boy Willie Mason can be earning up to $3 million dollars for the next 3 years, and at the age of 27 this kind of cash can really end the career of the big prop on an impressive note. (or notes, millions of them).
Wigan is the UK Super League club to throw the cash at Willie Mason, they know that the price needs to be high - as Mason isn’t keen to leave his Sydney base and also doesn’t want to throw away his remaining representative opportunities and World Cup appearance chances in 2008.
The bonus for Wigan as that not only is Willie Mason a top class player on his day, but the big man being the human headline he is - provides a good marketing platform to the club that takes him on board. Kiwi coach Gary Kembles weird ways

Already under a tonne of pressure, Kiwi Rugby League coach Gary Kemble is facing another wave of criticism after word has circulated about his bizzare coaching methods.
Away from the training paddock, the new Kiwi coach has reportedly humiliated players that were late for sessions or missed the team bus. An insider refusing to be named has claimed that Kemble lost total support from many of the players after instructing certain players to serve the rest of the team dinner partially naked and other players were subjected to performing the haka outdoors in the rain while the rest of the party looked on.
It certainly is an unusual method to try and build team bonding; a method that looks to have back fired for the recently appointed Kiwi Rugby League coach as the team remains winless and not even competitive on the Rugby League field.
Reports from New Zealand are suggesting not only is Kembles career at stake; but pride in the NZ Rugby League jersey and the ever present battle with Union is at stake.
Facing a confident and in-form Great Britain Lions Rugby League outfit; the Kiwi’s will certainly be doing it tough to avoid a 3-0 series whitewash should they lose this Sunday morning. As NRL News has mentioned before, should the Great Britain Lions romp home - they will be full of confidence and ready to take on Australia in the upcoming Rugby League World Cup next year.

Piggy finds JT’s stolen Medal

When Jason Taylors Rothmans Medal was stolen recently; the former halfback and current coach of the South Sydney Rabbitohs spoke of how much the award meant to him and how desperately he wanted it back. The chances of the thief being able to sell the medal were slim, as it’s easily recognizable - however the chances of the medal being recovered were also low, as the guilty parties would not want to risk the chance of being found out.
Well not only has the medal turned up today; but the detective work has come from a very unlikely source. Parramatta hooker Mark Riddell gave Taylor a call earlier in the week to discuss the medal, saying that he had heard some news on it and was able to find the stolen award.
It seems that someone had contacted Mark Riddell saying they knew the whereabouts of the medal, and Piggy began to make inquiries to find the stolen goods.
An ecstatic Taylor has been reunited with the medal and has his former pupil to thank for the Sherlock Holmes work.
