Cameron Smith won’t miss Round 1
March 12, 2008
There were doubts over Cameron Smith starting in the Melbourne Storm lineup for Round 1, with his first child yet to be born and due any day. However, Storm fans can rest easy now – as the potent hooker is now a proud dad and ready to take his position on the field for Monday Night Football against the NZ Warriors.
His little girl, Jada Grace Smith was born at 1:54pm weighing in at an even eight pounds and both mother and daughter are fine and healthy.
“I was getting a bit worried there because the baby was two days overdue,” said Cameron Smith.
“We thought we were going to have to induce the baby, but luckily Barb went into labour this morning.
“Barb and Jada are both doing really well, and I’m just so glad the wait is finally over.
“It’s a great relief she had the baby before the game on Monday night otherwise I might have had another tough decision to make about whether I played or not.”

- Info : Please, resolve the addition below before post any new comment...
- Samdiatmh : YB - nice looking team there
- Mr Akuma : Is Crystal-Ball Man (CBM)out there?? I'd like to see your picks for Rd#1.
- YEAH BRO : 1. Hayne, 2. B.Morris, 3. M. Jennings, 4. Tahu. 5. J Morris, 6. G.Bird, 7. Mitchell Pearce/B.Kimmorl ey 8. Justin Poore, 9. M. Ennis 10. J. Perry, 11.B. Creagh, 12. A.Watmough, 13. P . Gallen. res: T. Waterhouse,M. Weyman, L .Lewis and T. Learoyd Lahrs...
- YEAH BRO : picking NSW side already huh?/ well if NSW want to win they need 2 show loyalty like the QLDERS!! my side would be
- Happy Dragon : Go Dragons tonight, but I think Eels will win?
- RickyRicardo : Of course I'm going
I'll go for the Cowboys in a tight one by about 2-4 points. - Dee Tee : Hey Ricky i know you will be going for Parra tonight but who do you like out of the other match?
- RickyRicardo : Trust me DT, my team isn't what the selectors will go for. They're more likely to pick a starting second row of Gallen, Watmough and O'Donnell which won't work. And they'll pick Jennings outside Brett Morris, both of whom aren't the best of defenders. Inglis and Folau will have a field-day down that side. With Cooper and Tahu playing on the left wing/centre, it'll be tougher for Folau/Inglis to play their natural game.
- Dee Tee : Yeah Ricky Your team is more what NSW selectors would go for.
- Dee Tee : Yes, My team is more mobile up front and more speed out wide.. but your team is more what NSW selectors would go for.
- RickyRicardo : When it gets closer to SOO time, I'll do an analysis as to why I think that should be the NSW team as well as my QLD team and then compare some key player match-ups.
- RickyRicardo : That'd be the NSW team that I'd go for. Has the skill, speed, hunger and creativity to match it with QLD's team.
- RickyRicardo : 1. Jarryd Hayne 2. Brett Stewart 3. Timana Tahu 4. Matt Cooper 5. Brett Morris 6. Terry Campese 7. Brett Kimmorley 8. Jason Ryles 9. Robbie Farah 10. Justin Poore 11. Nathan Hindmarsh 12. Ben Creagh 13. Greg Bird 14. Luke Lewis 15. Anthony Watmough 16. Luke Douglas 17. Michael Weyman.
- RickyRicardo : Can't see that side getting selected DT and some of those players won't be in Origin. The team for Origin HAS to be as follows.
- Dee Tee : And im a Queenslander...
- Dee Tee : This NSW Squad will beat QLD- 1J.Hayne,2S.Kenn y-Dowall,3M.Jenn ings4J.Morris,5T .Moltzen,6T.Barr ett.C,7M.Pearce, 8L.Douglas,9M.En nis,10J.Poore,11 P.Gallen,12L.O' Donnell,13A.Watm ourgh.RES,G.Bird ,W.Mason,M.Hodgs on,C.Houston,N.H indmarsh,A.Laffr anchi,L.Stuart,R .Farah.Coach,C.B ellamy
- RickyRicardo : He's already in my fantasy side
- Yeah bro : im expecting a solid start...would be over the moon with a top 1000 finish by the end of the week!!! come rounds 9-17 i dominate!!! and move up the ladder!!
- Yeah bro : Ricky- are u going to throw Jarryd Hayne in your fantasy side??
- Mr Akuma : GO RAIDERS 2010!!!!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : wwooohhhoooo footy kicks off finally the lastcouple weeks takin ages
- RickyRicardo : Council*
- RickyRicardo : Eels have announced a new partnership with Parramatta City Counci.
- RickyRicardo : Benji might miss the start of the season with an ankle injury.
- RickyRicardo : Lee Ta Maari is being looked at by the Knights.
- Chris : Wow, cant believe the footy is back! So pumped.
- Yeah bro : also Hayne is reported to have a nigging injury?? maybe a wise choice not to include him in the side?? i dunno
- Yeah bro : FYI; daily telegrapgh fantasy comp is pretty darn tricky this year!!! does anyone think that Paul Gallen will be selected in the first state of origin?? if not im picking him in my fantasy
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : nicely said HD lmao
- Happy Dragon : Good 2 c loyalty shown by both sides though!
- Happy Dragon : Sharks must b desperate signing that boofhead for life?
- Samdiatmh : James Maloney to continue as 5/8 for warriors? or will he be replaced by Moon/Hohaia
- Yeah bro : Paul Gallen a SHARK 4 life!! mmm interesting
- Yeah bro : eagles will only make the 8- if rookie Kieran Foran can handle the mustard so to speak...big test this year for the half!
- Samdiatmh : hahahaha - top 6 for seagles
- manu feltersnatch : hmmm no biters ayy !
- manu feltersnatch : anyway, we all know that Manly will win this year
- Bald Eagle : Chill peoples its just a game, albeit that we all love
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : ppl just need to chill out and see perspective not be irate every teams gets there go eventually whether it 2years 100 years... QLD origin supporters are the biggest need off CHILL pills and c in perspective the whole origin the way they carry on is unbelievable insane to the point no one cares about origin...
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : NZTiger that last sentence was twisted to ur point at the beginning... tell wat is tiring is hayne is best player HA like inglis is....
- NZTiger : All this talk of the Eels being the "big" thing is getting a little tiring...just because they finished very strongly on the back half of 2009 doesn't mean that it's going to be an instant top 4 finish this year - only 12 months ago they were tipped in the bottom 4. If they start off slow again, which they've been known to do in the past, then a top 4 finish is out of the question.
- Yeah bro : i was just wondering whether he would be a good fantasy buy Ricky...at $174k...IF HE started at Melbouren - it could have only been the games where B WHITE played origin?? 3 max?? unsure...
- RickyRicardo : You could definitely say that Mocco. Anything less than a top 4 finish would be a poor season by the Eels standards.
- RickyRicardo : He started quite a few times at the end of the season YB. Mainly off the bench, but he is a good impact player and was a good buy for the Broncos.
- Mocco : Ricky, if the Eels finish 5th then I would think that you will say that it has been a disaster of a season.
- Yeah bro : Scott Anderson from the Broncos...has he ever started for the STORM?? and how many mins would he have played roughly?? coming off the bench for storm?
- RickyRicardo : Some of Brandy's picks are ridiculous. He reckons that the Bulldogs will finish 6th, that the Eels will finish 5th and that the Panthers will finish 4th. Panthers will be on the fringes of the 8 if they're lucky.
- Mocco : Brandy has picked the Titans to finish third this year. But he thinks the coach is Tim Sheens according to Foxsports. Got nothing!!
- RickyRicardo : The Bulldogs are looking at signing Broncos young gun Ben Hunt,
- RickyRicardo : Apparently Greenfield wasn't match fit to be selected. He should be ready by Rd 2.
- RickyRicardo : 3266 - Trial form means nothing at all. The Eels won't be getting the wooden spoon. Not even close to it.
- RickyRicardo : Sammut is a fringe player MS and he always has been. He just comes in when there are injuries, makes a mistake and then is axed for several weeks.
- RickyRicardo : Apparently Beale's defence is a bit suspect, but Henjak was willing to give him a crack so he did.
- Samdiatmh : what's the likelyhood of James Maloney continuing to play for the warriors this year at 5/8 (or will Moon/Hohaia go in there when they're up to fitness [McKinnon in hohaias case])
- Happy Dragon : Hey YEAH BRO, I'm sure Bennett knows what he's doing leaving Greenfield out, do u really want to question Bennett's decisions?
- YEAH BRO : Micheal Greenfield overlooked for rd 1.....mmm
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : come back in fortnight and let us know what team to backing for spoon
put $100000 on that u change ur mind or loose - qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : they are nothing like a proper game trials....
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : HAHAHAAH cool we can see you waste and not win.... like omg trials are a joke
- Guest_3266 : eels for wooden spoon this year, after seein them play at gosford. roosters made them look silly
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : yeah i think round 1 will have some upset wins so im just having gnarly tips till at least round 3
- MarkoSharko : Wow, no Sammut for the panthers after his big off season bulk up.
- Chris : Well where going to have to wait and see how he performs.
- 9 : centre
- 9 : broncs
- Chris : Nope, who does he play for?
- 9 : Anyone know much about Beale.
- Chris : Okay thanks.
- RickyRicardo : Don't think so Chis. They both seem raring to go and I haven't heard of any niggling injuries. Looks like Ben Ross might not play though.
- Chris : Is it true Nathan Merrit and Roy A could miss round 1 becasue of injury?
- RickyRicardo : Who knows. Fien is an 80 minute player though.
- YEAH BRO : interesting selection from the Dragons///they have Green> Merrin> Hunt and Saffy on the bench...all props or second rowers....they have only selected Fien as the sole hooker....anyone reckon that Young will swap with Fien from lock, and fien getting rested on the bench/?
- RickyRicardo : Henderson is out for a while. De Gois wasn't named, but should be fit to play and Sims from what I know doesn't have a major injury, but rather he was just left out of the squad.
- YEAH BRO : if there was going to be an upset this week I would say the Sharkies over Storm!
- YEAH BRO : Happy Dragon ; Eels> Cowboys> dogs> Penrith> Storm> Titans> Roosters> Tigers
- Happy Dragon : My tips wk 1: DRAGONS,BRONCOS, DOGS,PENRITH,STO RM,TITANS,SOUTH & TIGERS
- YEAH BRO : does anyone know how long: Aston sims, Issac De Gois and Ian Henderson are out for??
- RickyRicardo : Corey Norman is a young player from the Broncos QLD Cup side. Big gamble, but we'll see how it goes.
- Samdiatmh : YB - i am, some surprises thrown up today... and some obvious choices going out (Reddy benched, Kemp not playing)
- Yeah bro : hope everyone is modifying there NRL Fantasy team!
- Samdiatmh : and who the hell is Corey Newman for the Broncs?
- Samdiatmh : WOAH!!! - some kick-ass teams this week
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : sounds to me ur a typical storm supporter due to the success over the last few years that aint true footy lovin
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : cool GEORGE!!!!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : god my guesses are spot on with these allegations lol 2 to be revealed and i got the lot
hope there more though juts not bein greedy - George : All the way from Bougainville PNG and a Storms crazy. Storms for 2010 Minor Premiership and of course we'll successfully defend what belongs to us.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : YEW!!!! what are the punishments lying behind his f.wits
- RickyRicardo : Gidley and Naiqama ARE under investigation yes.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : cowboys i think at this stage still ned to study form on friday
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Hope so.. those 2 were in my guesses with paterson.
- JessicaTeneal : did i hear correctly that gidley and naiquama are both under investigation?
- Chris : Farah,Thurston,S mith or Carney for Dally M.
- Bald Eagle : Cowboys or Broncos ?
- Bald Eagle : I hope Brent Kite pulls his finger out this year, I dont know what it is about him but he seems so passive for a front rower
- QldRuncivlisedEELZ : HAHA leave him out.....
- RickyRicardo : There's a rumour doing the rounds that Greg Eastwood wants back in the NRL with the Dogs and that Leeds will release him a year early from his contract to do so.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : cant wait till round 2 when i can see what way teams are going in the tip comp lol 1st round difficult.. think im gunna make odd one's think that the way it gunna be unxpected teams to win
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : like the look of u top 8 YEAH BRO... no qld but storm
wen will they die down lol full of qld origin - YEAH BRO : Top Tryscorer: Bryson Goodwin, Top 8; Titans, Dragons, Bulldogs, Melbourne, Parramatta, Tigers, Penrith , Souths/Roosters!
- YEAH BRO : 2010 predictions: Premiers: Parramatta Minor Premiers: Titans Wooden Spooners: Knights Dally M winner: Robie Farah Most improved: South Sydney Rabbitohs Biggest flop: Brisbane Broncos
- Happy Dragon : God Mortimer is hot, what a babe!
- RickyRicardo : The news all the Eels fans have been waiting for hey?
- QldRuncivlisedEELZ : HD like u woodenspoon choices but G.f nuh mate
- QldRuncivlisedEELZ : yay mortimer an eeel yew!! legend
- Wombat : Parramatta Stadium Trust wanted to much money for them to move the game.
- Happy Dragon : I think the NRL said no to moving it Adam?
- Adam : why isnt the eels v dragons game moved to anz? its a sell out already
- Guest_4968 : my work sucks a$$...i am unable to access fantasy NRL from my work computer now!!
- Happy Dragon : Knights or Sharks 4 wooden spoon, Storm or Dogs for GF?
- Brett : Hot tips for GF and wooden spoon
- Chris : I didn't actually say that but the count is on.
- Chris : The countdown is on!
- Hate : looking forward to the eels v dragons shame on ch 9 showing the local derby between two qld sides thats all we get up here a qld team every friday night not every one who lives in qld supports a qld side
- Hate : Hey all daniel mortimer is a future champion player pity in his jnr days his dad adviced him not to join the bulldogs due to the willie mason factor , as a dogs supporter i would love to have him at the club lots hope what ever decision he makes its a good one for his future
- RickyRicardo : Well they say he should be back by Rd 4 at the earliest. But some reports have him coming back at Round 10/11 because his injury hasn't responded as well to rehab.
- Samdiatmh : So - 3/4 of the season or 4/5 games for Tuiaki?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : hayne best player... ha i would pick at least 4 before him in my selections
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ :
have to change my fantasy now o well at least i was told nice and early HA.... he will b straight in wen he's fixed up :d - Guess_2010 : shame about Tuiaki and for the Tigers:( looks like i'll have to release Taniela from my fantasy squad then. thanks again, mush appreciated:)
- NRL News : Tuiaki is expected to miss half to 3/4 of the NRL season. He required another operation only recently on his ankle.
- RickyRicardo : Farrar is rumoured to be fit to start Rd 1. But Tuiaki won't be back until at least Rd4/5
- Guess_2010 : k thanks Ricky. is Farrar and Tuiaki injured then?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : mortimer to decide this week hopefully dont go to dogs
- RickyRicardo : Tony Williams will be lucky to play FG again given his poor form last year. And I don't think Brown or Tupou will start.
- Guess_2010 : hi all. is it true that Ben Farrar and Taniela Tuiaki are injured? if so, would Tony Williams fill BF's spot, and Mitch brown or Tame Tupou fill TT's place?
- Yeah Bro : Chris- ch 9!!...ch 7 will be on at 7.30 and i will be at the gym doing my regular "shoulder" workout!!!
- Chris : So whos going to be watching, the NRL footy show or Channel 9 or 7?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Hopefully bloody soon
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : You rekn.... will see who they all are one day
- Guest_4783 : Does anyone know when Daniel Mortimer is going to make a decision on where he will be playing in 2011?
- Yeah Bro : qldsRuncvlisedEE LZ? Zeb Taia?? Na man...no way in hell.!! he is clean skin!!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Zeb Taia will be my last guess for the next newcastle drugz
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : spoon will be heading to the shire or up the princess highway
- Nota : Roosters a top4 & a big chance of making it all the way.
- RickyRicardo : Clinton Toopi has officially signed an NRL deal with the Titans.
- yeah bro : so too are Melbourne!! STORM are paying $1.40 to make the 8th!! if u have a spare $100k WHY NOT
- yeah bro : Tigers are a certainty for the 8!
- Sid : Ian the wooden spoon is either yours or heading down the Hume to Canberra
- Sid : Qld rules, Titans, Bronco Cowboys will fight it out after winning the State of Origin
- Sid : And you Tigers fans have to be joking if you think you'll reach the 8
- Sid : The Bunnies will fail yet again
- Ian : I'm a Roosters nut, will we get the wooden spoon?
- rabbito 4 ever : is this the year Souths wil realise their potential
- tiger : tigers will make the 8 for sure
- Chris : I reckon they will be somewhere between 5th and 8th.
- RickyRicardo : Tigers will miss out on the eight for mine.
- Guest_4802 : how does everyone think the tigers will go this year?
- Wombat : i agree WTF he will be wondering what he has done wrong but RS loves to have plenty of halves at his dsposal
- WTF : I dont understand why Porter isbeing treated second rate by the Sharks. He played some bloody good footy for them on the back end of last year. Hes no worse a player than PAra halfback
- Hate : The knights would desperate to sign SBW after what he did the NRL should not let him play in our great game, our game is too good for him
- RickyRicardo : Well if he can improve his defence and get a bit more speed, he should be able to hold his spot
- Chris : Alot of Juniors that can play the centre position, hopefully he tries hard.
- RickyRicardo : he*
- RickyRicardo : Perrett hew does, but it looks like SKD might be on his last run if he doesn't perform.
- Chris : .
- Chris : Do you know if BS really likes Perrett and Kenny-dowall
- RickyRicardo : Most likely yes.
- Chris : Thats good i guess. Seems likley that Graham will retire before Mini then.
- RickyRicardo : BS is a big fan of Mini and apparently wants to keep him around for as long as possible. He'll be a mentor at the Roosters in about 5 years for the younger players coming through.
- Chris : I would like to see Mini as a assistant coach. Helping out the young fullbacks.
- Chris : Yeah, alot of juniors. I'm not sure if Mini should stay, with the likes of Blair, Williamson and Leilua.
- RickyRicardo : Mini will sign incentive based contracts for a few years, but it could be the end of Anasta. Rumour is that he's headed to either the Knights, the Sharks, the Storm or the Eels if he was to leave.
- RickyRicardo : Not to mention you have Cherrington, Cordner, Koups, Kennedy etc. all of whom can play in the second row.
- Chris : Also Moseo might be playing FG next year.
- Chris : With Minichiello probably leaving and also maybe Anasta? It could come true. Plus your sources are usually right, so i'm getting excited but then again we have Symonds, Aubusson and Myles.
- RickyRicardo : Honestly, I don't think the Roosters need him given the depth you have in the second row/lock position, but he is a quality player so I'm sure BS wouldn't say no.
- Chris : Alright. Do you think it would be a good buy?
- RickyRicardo : A source of mine
- Chris : Fair enough.
- Chris : Where did you hear about O'Donnell?
- RickyRicardo : Gaz's agent said that an NRL return seems unlikely as Gaz wants to play for the Wallabies.
- Chris : Ok, thought so.
- RickyRicardo : Corey Payne is out for about 8-10 weeks I think?
- Chris : Hopefully your right about Luke o'donnell.
- Chris : Rumours Mark Gaznier could be headed back to NRL just for this year, short term deal.
- Chris : Is Corey Payne out for the season?
- RickyRicardo : Also, it's rumoured that Luke O' Donnell is headed to the Roosters in 2011
- Chris : Oh Ok.
- RickyRicardo : He's been there for a while. He use to play in the NSW Cup for Bankstown for a few years and then got some FG action over the last 2/3.
- Chris : *
- Chris : Didn't
- Chris : Did Dogs just sign him?
- RickyRicardo : Lee Te Maari is set to be sacked by the Bulldogs for driving without a licence.
- RickyRicardo : Looks like the Knights are after Buderus again and SBW.
- RickyRicardo : Well his defence was very poor at times last year.
- Chris : I'm worried becasue, BS really likes Nick Kouparitsas and we could see him replace Jones which would be disappointing, as Jones has got alot more talent.
- Chris : Oh Yeah, Makes sense. I'm expecting to see that team lining up for round 1. Only change is SKD will be playing Centre. BS has mention will put on alot of weight and they are working on his defence.
- RickyRicardo : 1. Carney 2. Minichello 3. Graham 4. SKD 5. Perret 6. Anasta 7. Pearce 8. Ryles 9. J Aubusson 10. FPN 11. M Aubusson 12. Symonds 13. Myles 14. Jones 15. Paea 16. Conn 17. Guerra/Kennedy
- RickyRicardo : This is probably the side you're looking at depending if Perrett plays round 1.
- RickyRicardo : Again it's hard to say. Guerra might not make it onto the bench.
- Chris : Thanks.
- Chris : They both will be in the team, with Guerra replacing Cherrington becasue of injury?
- RickyRicardo : Not in my team he wouldn't, but then again, I'm not the coach, DA is.
- RickyRicardo : I think the Roosters are better off giving that last bench spot to Kennedy. Guerra is a bit inconsistent at the moment. but it depends on which way BS wants to go.
- Chris : Will Inu from Eels be playing round 1?
- Chris : Haha, that's alright. Former Melbourne resevre Adian Guerra might get a bench spot for round 1. Good news?
- RickyRicardo : I'll stick with my Eels one thanks
- RickyRicardo : Hehe.
- Chris : Roosters jerseys are out! Check it out Roosters supports on Sydney Gameday. Ricky check it out you might want to buy one
Hehe. - RickyRicardo : It definitely is.
- Chris : Oh so the rumour was true. Yeah i have a membership also, it's very handy.
- RickyRicardo : And he's with the Roosters but he won't be playing that much FG.
- RickyRicardo : Season membership. Paid in full in December, so I didn't have to worry about getting tickets as I just use a card they give you to get in. Reserved seating in other words.
- Yeah bro : Ricky how the hell u get tix for that?? it wa ssold out in less than 2 hours!! i was like 1 hour late and needed 2 get 15 tix!!! grrr
- Chris : Or is he still signed with Sharks?
- Chris : Where he will be playing in 2010?
- Chris : Any news on Jacob Selmes?
- Chris : Awesome!! Should be a very entertaining game.
- RickyRicardo : Of course I am!! Eels v Dragons at Parramatta Stadium. I'll be there
- Chris : 8 days till NRL kick off. So exciting, anyone here going to any games in round 1?
- NZTiger : GO YOU TIGERRRRRRSSSSS!
- Diniel : haha nah i just wait til theres like 6 rounds to go and do my homework to work out how bad im risking my money
- Yeah bro : Folou for effectively Hannant, Ennis and Stagg!!! mmm i know what i would have had!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Inglis best player.. c.smith overrated for his position... Folau overpaid for his position and thurston $2mil contract what a joke THERE MY THOUGTHS
- Wombat : hey Dinel i will have a grand with you that they are not MP
- Yeah bro : Diniel - put ya$$$ on Titans this year for MP!! specials
- Diniel : yeah i was gonna put a grand on titans to make the top 4 or dragons for mp last year but was to lazy
- Yeah bro : haha wombat - tru that!! if the first bet doesnt get up - then obviously its good 2 watch it for 1. fantasy compeitions, 2. tipping ompetitions and 3. well for the love of the game!!!
- Wombat : it makes it exciting especially when you mates are on something else
- Yeah bro : last year i had a 2 leg multi paying $100/1 i had Israel Folou first try against Knights, Justin Carney first try $100/1 agaisnt Panthers on a sat night (rd 8 ) last year x $25 on it and it got up ...i had another bet with the same two guys with Brett Morris (ag Warriors on the sunday) to score paying $1000/1 x $10...but he missed out..wost thing about it was the next 3 weeks he like scored the first try for the DRAGONS!! grrrr..i tell ya what it makes the game soo much more exciting!!!!
- Wombat : i think souths will have troble unless Sandow can improve, don't think he steers them around the park good enough
- FESTA : tipping comps and nrl fantasy
- Yeah bro : do you guys bet on the rugby league much?? or just do the fantasy?? the First Try scorer's double up is a handy profit if succesful!
- Yeah bro : lol i hope they dont get the spoon!! i would cop a bagging from my work colleagues!
- Wombat : wouldn't be backing Broncos for the spoon but i think they will struggle to make the 8 for the first time for a long time.
- Yeah bro : just looking at the wooden spoon odds ...Newcastle $4 now!!! they were $8.....another team that may be a smoky for the wooden spoon - my team the Broncos - $20/1 best price available...if Lockyer gets injured...Hodges out and Hunt gone...could be testing times for the broncs!!
- Wombat : are you looking to switch back to the bunnies from manly festa always new you were a confused man
- RickyRicardo : I agree. I just think that this hype around Burgess and Taylor is unjustified. They haven't shown that they can perform week in, week out consistently. Burgess's fitness levels will be tested this year.
- FESTA : time will tell ricky time will tell
- RickyRicardo : I reckon 4th or 5th at best. But I've tipped them to miss the 8.
- FESTA : so how do you think the bunnies will go in 2010
- Yeah bro : lol well it is called the NRL SHOUTBOX...FESTA shout all ya want champ!! haha
- Wombat : Knights for spoon for sure
- Wombat : Stop screaming festa
- RickyRicardo : With the Knights problems, it's hard to go past them for the wooden spoon.
- RickyRicardo : No need to write in the capitals Fests and welcome to the Shoutbox.
- FESTA : SHARKS FOR WOODEN SPOON
- FESTA : THE KNIGHTS WHAT CAN I SAY THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED SINCE 1997 DRUG CHEATS THEN AND DRUG CHEATS NOW
- Happy Dragon : It wouldn't surprise me if Wes was involved, how many times has he drove without a license, not very bright?
- Happy Dragon : Yeah I'd say Knights with Sharks close behind?
- Chris : My guess is Knights.
- Chris : Probably.
- Samdiatmh : So.... Knights or Sharks for spoon?
- RickyRicardo : I don't think he's been formally charged by the NRL yet. I believe they want to wait until everything with the police is sorted out before they make their decision, but Wicks may also be looking at four years away from NRL yes.
- Chris : What happen to Danny Wicks? Did he get a 4 year ban?
- RickyRicardo : It would be in some ways, but the NRL has a strict policy on it all. Houston is looking at a 4 year ban from playing NRL.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : i think i am just hoping he is but he isnt HEHE..... roids
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : yew looks like one off me guesses is correct :d 1 to go.... wont take more guesess yet only lik taking 2
- Chris : It would be a massive shame if Gidley was taking drugs.
- Chris : And alot of comments.
- Chris : The Wall "I Think you will find Jacob selmes (former cronulla sharks forward) has been signed for a short period to fill the gap while JWH makes his comback. I have been told he will be on a contract for five weeks & then a decision will be made on his future. Smith just wants him to cart the ball up make good meters & do damage"
- Chris : All it said on the chookpen was "Have heard we have signed jacob selmes for a short stint until the injury toll get better. He will be assesed after that as to if he has a future with us"
- RickyRicardo : If it's on the Chookpen, it'd definitely have some truth to it.
- Chris : Oh ok, I heard it from the Chookpen and The Wall.
- RickyRicardo : No worries YB. Well if the rumours are true, then Gidley a prime candidate and being investigated.
- RickyRicardo : Haven't heard anything about that Chris. The Roosters wouldn't need anyone else anyways as they have some good depth in reserve grade and NYC.
- Yeah Bro : thanks for clearing that up Ricky..Gidley?? only if he takes human growth or steroids- look at the size of him!...doubt that he would deal....Naiqama doesnt surpirse me though!
- Chris : Is it true Roosters signed Jacob Selmes to replace JWH while his injured. Jacob is only signed for 5 weeks or so?
- Chris : So that's why Mason didn't want to join Knights becasue his brother Lees Mason was dealing drugs to them or something.
- Chris : All players from Knights that dealed or took drugs.
- Chris : * Robbie O'Davis * Adam McDougall * Andrew Johns * Danny Wicks * Chris Houston
- RickyRicardo : But with Gidley and Naiqama being investigated, it's solely a rumour and nothing more at this stage.
- RickyRicardo : Mason just thought he would have had a better opportunity in Nth Qld. He knew some of the guys up there well and though it'd be the best place for him to go.
- RickyRicardo : But, if you think long and hard and go back to when Wicks was first caught out, which two other players profiles had disappeared off the website? If you saw of course. I guess it's kind of ok to say it, but it seems that Kurt Gidley and Wes Naiqama are the two others being investigated as their profiles were also taken down at the time of Wicks arrest.
- RickyRicardo : Jarrod Mullen isn't involved in the drugs scandal.
- RickyRicardo : Actually, apparently Ricky Stuart is in favour of playing Albert Kelly over Scott Porter.
- Yeah bro : oh by the way- does anyone else think that this was the reason why Willie Mason did not sign with the Knights?? or just pure coincidence? it was well know amongst league circles that something was brewing up there in Newy!
- Yeah bro : Todd Carney is a gun for fantasy....and ill give you guys a maasive heads up....try and throw as many bulldog backs as you can for round 1...they are playing the Knights at ANZ and i suspect a hiding!!!
- Yeah bro : I am hearing that Jarrod Mullen's name has been mentioned for further investigations!! that would be a massive blow to the NRL if true... i hope not..and at the moment it is nothing more than rumour and inunedo...so take in mind that!!
- Yeah bro : Fellas; for fantasy - Albert Kelly will only be a good buy if Trent Barratt makes origin!! with Greg Bird coimg back into the NSW side (as will be suspected) i wouldsay dont pick him!!! but that is me!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : tod carney is doing terriffic
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : knights sponsor thinking of pulling out anz and blue tongue HAHAHA losers more n more
- alex fisher : yeow sonny
- Happy Dragon : Thx Ricky, that's good 2 know!
- RickyRicardo : And don't worry HD, from what I know, there's no Dragons involved with drugs. At the time, Houston and Wicks weren't involved with that during their time at the Dragons.
- RickyRicardo : Todd Carney is a very good buy as well yes.
- RickyRicardo : It's hard to say Chris. AK is supposed to be the next big half, but it's hard to say for sure if he'll get a crack in FG. I suspect that he will, so he'd be a good buy to have but possibly off the bench as he is quite cheap.
- Happy Dragon : I would b totally devastated if the Dragons were involved with drugs!
- Chris : Todd Carney would be a good buy, his only $135,200.
- Chris : I've got Albert kelly on my bench. Do you know if he will play FG this year for round 1?
- RickyRicardo : And if you have Hayne, you don't really need to get Billy. Unless you want to get Billy at fullback, and then Hayne in the centres or on the wing.
- RickyRicardo : Hayne and Dugan should do the job for you then.
- Chris : Oh yes, sorry i didn't mean Inglis i ment Billy Slater. I've got Hayne at fullback and Josh Dugan as a reserve fullback. I was just wondering if i should swap Hayne for Slater but theres not really any point if you think about it.
- RickyRicardo : If you're doing the NRL.com fantasy competition, there's no reason why you can't fit them both Chris. Inglis is a bargain value at $190,000 or something and Hayne is good value as well, but I can't remember his price. The DT one is harder as the salary cap is less if I remember correctly.
- Chris : Inglis or Hayne?
- RickyRicardo : He is a current player for the Knights. The remaining two being investigated are current players, but that's as much as I can say for now.
- Chris : Is Hayne worth the money on Fantasy?
- Chris : Gidley, Simspon.. Who else are big stars in Knights. Hey Ricky is that one person that will shocked everyone is he a current player for Knights or did he retire or plays super league?
- RickyRicardo : The Knights are the team with the worse drug problems. And there are at least two players they're still investigating. One big name at the Knights infact. It'll come as a big shock to the entire NRL world if he does end up being charged.
- Chris : QldsRuncvlisedEE LZ is right, they are all ex Dragon players. So not much people would be surprised if Dragons were the 2nd club with drugs.
- RickyRicardo : 4783 - Haven't heard any rumour about Daine Laurie doing that, plus there seems to be no reports in the papers or internet, so I'd say it's not true. But I'll look into it and keep you posted.
- Happy Dragon : I'm sure Knights aren't the only team with drug probs, maybe the they're going through one team at a time?
- Happy Dragon : Hey Ricky, do u mean 2-3 players from Knights or elsewhere?
- Cookie : Knight will struggle.. mullo will shine
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : are these quilty players being dropped from the nrl or just charges laid?
- Yeah bro : Ricky- as we earlier suspected !!more knights players 2 be revealed...the question is will they be charged,,...i'd say no...they have there 2 main offendors and scapegoats
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : seems to be ex dragons at this stage conincidence i have picked them out actually
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : more knights stars i would say naiqama and paterson at this stage off my memory jog hehe
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : There quite a few more to be done from diff teams as well
- Guest_4783 : Ricky, any truth to the rumour that Dane Laurie has been stood down after an embarrassing, drunken display at their sponsors function last week?
- RickyRicardo : Houston isn't the last player that is being investigated. They're looking at about 2/3 more for possible drug charges.

- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : wes will be a good hit in the drugs
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : yeh i would say and that dragons are clean now they got rid off those stickin drop kick cheaters
- Happy Dragon : Chris Houston from Knights been stood down due to drug supply! He was Danny Wicks flatmate & they both came from Dragons! Maybe the Dragons knew something & got rid of them???
- RickyRicardo : I'd move Maubs to lock, but apart from that, that's the second row I'd go with.
- RickyRicardo : There's a few more, question is whether or not they'll be found out as well.
- Chris : They all can play lock, and they can play second row. Pretty good combination.
- Chris : I would go with 11. Symonds 12. Aubusson 13. Myles - and they all can play 80 minutes.
- Chris : Another Knights player charged. Wonder if their will be more?
- RickyRicardo : Look for updates later on in the day.
- RickyRicardo : Chris Houston has been stood down effective immediately after being charged with three counts of drug supply.
- RickyRicardo : News just got worst for Knights fans as I said.
- RickyRicardo : Tom Symonds will most likely move into the second row to replace Cherrington, or start off the bench. Depends on what BS wants to go with.
- RickyRicardo : Martin Kennedy will get a crack off the bench first Chris.
- RickyRicardo : Anthony Cherrington is out for the seson.
- Samdiatmh : note: not a roosters fan, so am unaware of pre-season form
- Samdiatmh : Chris - neither tbh, maybe on the bench... but cherrington an ryles as starting props for me
- Chris : Isaac Maliota or Martin Kennedy? Who deserves a shot at FG for round 1?
- QldRuncivlisedEELZ : c.smith overrated in my eyes kingston my hooker choice for 2010 top 3
- QldRuncivlisedEELZ : why is the dally m usually a hooker gggghehehehe
- QldRuncivlisedEELZ : agree with u HD piggy is a PIG!!!!
- Happy Dragon : Hey hate sorry I missed u, good 2 have u back! Hope the Dragons tell Riddell 2 piss off, we don't need him or want him! No loyalty shown by him at all, he goes where the money is!
- Yeah Bro : Samdiatmh = yes.... just giving you guys the heads up...
- RickyRicardo : 2011.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : when he wanting a return 2010 or 2011
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : piggy can stay away he is such an arrogant thing
- Samdiatmh : YB - you keep saying that, have you put money on it yet?
- Yeah Bro : Farah - dally m....
- Yeah Bro : lol Piggy Riddell...he pinched my mates' misses....and now he is married 2 her...lol
- RickyRicardo : He has yes, but I'm still yet to see anything from him that makes me say WOW!
- Guest_3175 : true but i think he has adapted well with the weather and i like his passion
- RickyRicardo : I'm still not convinced. If he can show that he can back it up for 6 months, then I'll say he is a good. Until then, he is yet to do anything I haven't seen from other first year players.
- Guest_3175 : what do you think about sam burgees he is already making his mark
- RickyRicardo : I'd have to say this year the minor premiers will be the Doggies.
- Guest_3175 : who's your favourite for the minor prems?
- RickyRicardo : They did yes, but trials don't mean much these days as a lot of coaches try new combinations and try new things. But Seymour is looking good. They might be a darkhorse to sneak into the 8, but they'll probably miss out.
- Guest_3175 : they went pretty well in their trails seymore is looking good again
- RickyRicardo : I don't think they have the squad to make the 8, but I don't think they'll come last either. They'll probably finish around 12th-14th.
- Guest_3175 : what do you think about the warriors
- Guest_3175 : hello
- RickyRicardo : Pirtek has re-signed as the Eels main sponsor for the next three years.
- RickyRicardo : The Eels will come good at the season's start. DA was trialling some new combinations, most of which didn't work as he had planned, so he'll shift back to what worked best, the end of 2009.
- RickyRicardo : Good to have you back Hate!!
- Hate : any im off to have dinner and happy and ricky im back where is my drinking buddy
- Hate : Hey samdiatmh its early with the eels and panthers remember the new players still have to gel
- Hate : Hey guys from what i saw of the saints v souths game we are in for one hot season of football,as ricky and happy know i follow canterbury"good to see the orginal name back" , fans whose cause trouble have to be banned from all games for life , it turn the real football fans away ,shame cause its a dam good sport
- Samdiatmh : what's up with the eels in the trials - are they just rubbish or are the opposition too good?
- RickyRicardo : There you go. Should be a good game.
- Samdiatmh : and on FoxSports 3
- Samdiatmh : ah yes, 6:30pm UK - which means 5:30am AEDST
- RickyRicardo : If it is, it'd be on Channel Nine at sometime. But I'm not too sure.
- Samdiatmh : Is the World Club Challenge on tomorrow morning (Aus time
- RickyRicardo : And Anthony Cherrington is reported to be out for the season following last nights injury. Perrett and Pearce are likely to play in Rd 1 but will have precautionary scans.
- RickyRicardo : Also in other news, Mark 'Piggy' Riddell wants a return to Rugby League. Early mail is to re-join the Dragons or Eels with the Eels as early favourites due to the hooker back-log at the Dragons.
- RickyRicardo : 1522 - Trust me when I say that the Bulldogs fans are the worst. I've been to the games where they've caused the most problems. The semi final against the Eels, the Dogs fans (only a small portion) started about 10 or so fights during the game, and Police escorted about 30 or so guys from the stadium.
- Guest_1522 : Very vey disappointed with the Parramatta fans, most of them were drunk and one of them pushed my son *Roosters fan* when we were walking to the car. Eels are getting worse then the dogs fans.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : broncos to be a disgrace
panthers to be most improved
? - qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : roosters rabbits should be a nice clash.... carney carves up
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : round 1 selections mmmm not 100% sure bit of difficulty in it as always till round 3 then can see the way teams are going at least
- Happy Dragon : Charity Shield was great as always, could b a good yr 4 the Bunnies? Dragons still need a little work, Souths found a few gaps!
- Chris : Yes, that would be a good bet for Farah to win Dally M award.
- Chris : Finding the Info from the Chookpen. And there was live stats on Roosters site but it was extremly slow.
- Yeah Bro : Robbie Farah sets up 6 of Tigers 7 tries...mmm..Dal ly M....i think so!! jump on all!!1
- Yeah Bro : Chris...u watching game live?/ where is it at?/ how u find ya info??
- Chris : Yes they are, 40-14 Roosters win!. But Cherrington Injured and Perrett not sure how bad but.
- Yeah Bro : roosters giving it 2 them huh...
- Yeah Bro : Nightingal = first try for Dragons...lol close but no DOUGHNUT!
- Chris : 36-14.
- Chris : 30-14 Roosters lead, 15 minutres left.
- Chris : 24-14 Roosters lead.
- Chris : 18-14 Roosters lead.
- Chris : Roosters lead Eels 12-10. 1 minute to half.
- Chris : Which player scored?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : *a big fella for 1st try
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : charity shield go BUNNIES rabbits 1st try big fella
- Yeah Bro : first try 2nite = nightingale!
- RickyRicardo : Denan Kemp will definitely want to show he still belongs in the NRL. His time at the Warriors wasn't too memorable.
- person : yep u r a tard
- SPAMMER : I am a tard.
- ljkiuokp[s : Don't listen to SPAMMER
- SPAMMER : please leave the site
- SPAMMER : Everyone please leave the site
- Guest_4133 : ehh.
- Guest_4133 : i think denan kemp will perform this year at broncos
- Chris : Good stuff.
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Bulldogs players Corey Payne and Dene Halutau will miss the start of the season.
- RickyRicardo : Last round of trial games before the season officially kicks off!!
- RickyRicardo : Joel Monaghan could be out for up to 10 weeks.
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Benji might even be back for Rd1.
- Chris : Will Benji be back for round 2?
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Benji will be a Tiger for life.
- RickyRicardo : Highly unlikely I think Sam. Widdop is a prospect for 2/3 years down the track. He is really only a fullback, and with Slater at the back, he won't get a look in anytime soon.
- RickyRicardo : Don't be surprised if its Bryson Goodwin kicking this year.
- Chris : I think Ennis was picked but Turner probably will have a few shots and also Bryson Goodwin.
- Samdiatmh : and will it be Ennis or Turner for Bulldogs kicking?
- Samdiatmh : How likely is Gareth Widdop going to get a game for Storm this year (other than when Slater is out for Origin)?
- NRL News : Albert Kelly has big potential. He will be used at some stage by Stuart, but needs to prove himself weekly in the grind of NRL as its a big step from NYC
- RickyRicardo : I wouldn't be surprised. Stuart rates Kelly as a better talent then Porter.
- Yeah bro : Phil Rothfield is predicting that Albert Kelly would be the start up halfback for the Sharkies this year?? i thought Scooty Porter did quite a fine job last year?? anyone have anything on this??
- RickyRicardo : prop*
- RickyRicardo : Well you've just bought Ryles and upgraded quite a lot of contracts, so I don't think the Roosters would be in the market for another propo.
- Chris : Ricky do you know if Roosters are looking for a experience prop?? It's a rumour say far.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : any chance cowboys shit arse this season
- Chris : Game* not move.
- Chris : Should be a good move. Is Perrett and SKD on the left side, if so then Oh dear god, not looking forward to it
- RickyRicardo : Yeah I saw that. It's definitely an interesting move. Well with Tahu in the side, anything could happen down that left hand side
- Chris : Well, i will be vsing you this week Ricky
Even though it's just a trial - Chris : Okay thanks. He just got picked on Roosters bench for the trial agaisnt Eels, i was just wondering.
- RickyRicardo : He's an average player at best though.
- RickyRicardo : If I'm not mistaken, he is a former Bulldog.
- Chris : Do you know who is Charlie Leano?
- Chris : Knights, Sharks or Warriors will be around there and also Manly.
- RickyRicardo : It's hard to go past the Knights for the wooden spoon really especially seeing as Gidley looks like he'll be out for the first month and a half of the season.
- Chris : I'm making my prediction for the wooden spoon, everyone remember my predication is Newcastle Knights. Lets see if im right. Qldsrunciv got it right last year lets see if she can do it again?
- NRL News : Could Peter Roy be the coach killer again for Sheens in 2010?
- RickyRicardo : Wade Graham may miss out on the start of the season.
- RickyRicardo : Well Koups could always replace Cherrington. It's between the two for that last bench spot really I think.
- Chris : But there is not really anyone for him to replace, unless Symonds or Anasta misses out in round 1.
- Chris : But BS really likes Nick Kouparitsas so i wouldn't be surprised to see him picked.
- Chris : Good team Ricky, mines pretty much the same. I think thats the best bench we can have. I know alot of people would want to have Jones in it but we need Tom Symonds.
- RickyRicardo : 1. Minichello 2. SKD 3. Graham 4. Leilua 5. Perrett 6. Carney 7. Pearce 8. FPN 9. Jaubs 10. Ryles 11. Myles 12. Maubs 13. Anasta 14. Symonds 15. Kennedy 16. Cherrington 17. Paea
- RickyRicardo : The team that would I have for the Roosters, presuming that Braith Anasta is fit for Rd 1 would be as follows.
- RickyRicardo : Still don't think Carney is suited to the fullback in the long term.
- Guest_3422 : Will Tom Symonds be fit for round 1?
- Guest_3422 : Ricky or Chris can you please do the team, how you think it would be?
- Guest_3422 : Takarangi and Leilua will be in the 17 for round 1. Mark my works,
- Guest_3422 : For those that weren't there, personally I thought Carney worked quite well from fullback. He chimed into the backline one player wider and still combined well with Pearce. He slotted into the halves in attack and still kicked regularly. Sure he got smashed a couple of times from kick returns, but what do you expect in his first game. I was expecting a lot worse punishment but the Tigpies were too farkin stupid to actually put a decent kick towards him.
- Chris : Was it actually BS talking? Or a news reporter saying BS said that?
- RickyRicardo : It was on the radio yesterday Chris. Normally when something is said during sports sections on radio, it doesn't transcend onto the other media areas.
- RickyRicardo : Well Anasta might miss out on the first Round or 2 so it all depends really. If he does play in Rd1, Anasta will go to lock, pushing Myles into the 2nd row and Cherrington onto the bench.
- Chris : Every where it has the BS wants Carney at fullback, i cant find any where about 5/8.
- Chris : Mitchell Aubusson and Myles as starting second rowers??
- Chris : I am very happy to see Todd Carney in the halves
Does that mean Anasta to lock then? - RickyRicardo : Blair/Linnett I think will only get a crack barring injuries. You're more likely to have a backline of something like 1. Mini 2. SKD 3. Graham 4. Leilua 5. Perrett. It's difficult with that second centre position now that Carney will move back to the halves and the fact that a lot of the youngsters aren't quite ready for FG action yet. Not to mention Maubs move to the second row as well.
- RickyRicardo : I still think Myles is better acquainted to the second row. Locks are traditionally ball-runners like Mateo and Tounge, and I think Maubs has better ball skills for that role then Myles does. It was on radio yesterday. He didn't think Carney played that well at FB and so he is moving back to the halves.
- Guest_4333 : Perrett and SKD cannot play on one side, they are hopeless in defence together. It must be Graham and SKD on one side and Perrett and Blair/ Linnett or BJ Lualie, and Mini at the back.
- Guest_4333 : Myles and Maubs played great in the position i put them in. Myles is a different man. Where did you hear that about Carney moving to 5/8. Ive heard alot of news reporters saying Carney should play 5/8 but never heard BS say his playing it? Are you sure? Hopefully your right.
- RickyRicardo : And in that team you've posted, I'd swap Myles with Maubs.
- RickyRicardo : Braith Anasta is still struggling to make Rd1 for the record. And Todd Carney didn't have the best game at FB. On top of that, BS said on radio this morning that he is moving Carney to 5/8, meaning that Mini moves back to fullback. The other wing spot will be decided. And Linnett is a good prospect, but I just think he needs a bit more time in reserve grade to fine-tune a few areas.
- Liamm. : Roosterss beat tigers 28-10,pearce and carney had a good game.carney scored 16 points,a try and 6 goals.pearce set up every try.
- Guest_4333 : If Injuries on the wing Kane Linnett will get the 1st shot, after tonight.
- Guest_4333 : Anasta will be fit for round 1.
- Guest_4333 : 1. Todd CARNEY 2. Anthony MINICHIELLO 3. Shaun KENNY-DOWALL 4. Phil GRAHAM 5. Sam PERRETT 6. Braith ANASTA 7. Mitchell PEARCE 8. Frank PAUL-NUUAUSALA 9. James AUBUSSON 10. Jason RYLES 11. Mitchell AUBUSSON 12. Anthony CHERRINGTON 13. Nate MYLES BENCH 14. Ben JONES 15. Lopini PAEA 16. Daniel CONN 17. Tom SYMONDS
- Guest_4333 : This will probably be the team for round 1 but wont be shocked to see some juniors in it that played 2nite.
- Guest_4333 : Forgot to mention Daniel Conn, he had a great game, had great hit ups and just played great. Wouldn't be surpriced to see him in the starting 17 for round 1.
- Guest_4333 : Solid*
- Guest_4333 : Alot of improvement since 09.
- Guest_4333 : Carney and Pearce played great, they played great when Carney was at fullback and 5/8 and Nate Myles suited Lock so much, his so fit now and has a agro and a Tackling Machine. I'm scared when Anasta comes back incase ruins our attack or it might make it so much better, The Aubusson brothers were very sold, very impressed with them.
- Guest_4333 : Cheyce Blair and BJ Lualie had a great game.
- Guest_4333 : Kennedy has promise, to me he looked as though he struggled around the rucks Gave away two penalties trying to slow the play the ball down whilst struggling a little to keep up.I think once Ryles and in particular JWH is back Kennedy may not see a great deal of 1st grade.
- Chris : Carney, Perrett, SKD, Cherrington and Carney 6/6 (two pen goals) and for Tigers Mitch Brown and not sure for the other.
- Chris : Only players tigers were missing is Payten, Tukiri and i think someone else, so they did have a near full strengh team, Roosters were missing, Anasta, JWH, Symonds and Ryles.
- Chris : they did
- Guest Who : Did any of the young guys get over the line?
- Guest Who : Chris did the tigers have a full strength side? That's a great result is it not?
- Happy Dragon : I'm expecting Eels 2 beat Dragons in Rd 1 qldsR?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : xactly H.D
- John : Thats what Im talkin bout!
- Chris : Roosters def. Tigers 28-10!
- Happy Dragon : Don't speak 2 soon 4052, it was only a trial! Trials r 4 trying out new things & players, no team r at their best this time of yr, there's a long way 2 go! I'd wait until round 26 before I start making stupid comments like your previous one!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : dont be too cocky wait till the end result... weekly scores dont tell anything until the fat lady sings at the end
- John : what worse than one loser? 2 fucking losers
- Guest_4052 : Parra suck, they got smashed in a trial, how hopeless r they.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : injury
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : parra loss to penrith, penrith loss of tighe and simmons
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : the reddys nicest fam lol
- Yeah Bro : na man cant help ya out that much....i wanna win it!! Ryles> Cayless> Burgess> Carney and Tahu and u do the rest!!! all the best!!
- Guest_2757 : Mate, do you think i should take everyone out of my team, and you tell me where to put them? That would be great.
- Guest_2757 : Super Coach is so much better!
- Yeah Bro : fox sports fantasy is crud..they no longer offer any cash?> in 2006 i came second overall and picked up$2500 for my efforts!! should have got first but i died towards the end!!! and they decided to play finals...otherwi se i would have won at the end of rd 26 that year!!!
- Guest_2757 : It's On Fox sports fantasy, it's harder.
- Yeah Bro : put thise players in and gte back to me when u do that!
- Yeah Bro : just do what i tell ya get Ryles> Cayless> Burgess> Carney and Tahu for $135K...and sell or trade most of them off when they make u $$ so u can buy better players....
- Yeah Bro : Guest_2757 = mate u have no chance in hell
- Guest_2757 : Good Team>?
- Guest_2757 : And Russel Packer
- Guest_2757 : 8. Weyman 9. Arron Payne 10. Frank- Paul nuuasala 11. David Stagg 12. Tom Leyrod Lars 13. Micheal Luck - resevre Shane Shackleton
- Guest_2757 : Another resevre - Phil Graham
- Guest_2757 : 6. Jamie Soward 7. Brett Seymour
- Guest_2757 : 1. Jarrod Saummut 2. Anthony Minichiello 3. Colin Best 4. Esikeli Tonga 5. Rhys Wesser and Resevere - Denan Kemp
- Guest_2757 : I'll show you my team
- Guest_2757 : And will Jarrod Sammut?
- Guest_2757 : Is Patrick Ah Van going to be playing first grade?
- Guest_2757 : What about Ben Rogers?
- Yeah Bro : Shack could be a good buy at the price...Weyman mmm....maybe but u have 2 consider origin...before rd 11 u MUST trade him!!!
- Yeah Bro : bro Asford is worth 2 many $$$...u will not make $$ on him!!! buy cheap players who are starting and sell and trade them off at a later date!!
- Guest_2757 : I replaced Kennedy and Koups for Shack and Weyman. Is that better?
- Guest_2757 : Black Ashford and Tom Symonds should add alot of points.
- Yeah Bro : no offense guest_2757- all players are bench players at worst!! and will score nothing this year....ur better buying Burgess> Cayless> Ryles> Carney all $135K....cannot help 2 much more as i want 2 win the $30K this year!!
- Yeah Bro : Guest_2757 ur fantasy team would be crud if all those players are in ur side...
- Guest_2757 : And also Nick Kenny
- Guest_2757 : Will Lagi Setu, Black Ashford, Tom Symonds, Martin Kennedy and Nick Kouparitas all play first grade for round 1?? (it's for my fantasy) and will they all be fit for round 1?
- Chris : I dont think there is any coverage of the Trials, sorry.
- Yeah Bro : Guest_4385 - ur kidding right?? Thurston is clearly in the top 3 along with Hayne and Slater...
- Guest_4385 : cant find anywhere
- Guest_4385 : anyone know if there is any coverage of the trials sat 20th
- Guest_212 : Thurston isnt even that good i would have Smith, Inglis, Lockyer, Slater, Stewart, Gidley all infront of him and some more like Scott Prince and Preston.
- RickyRicardo : Jonathon Thurston is turning out to be a bit money-hungry after rejecting a deal worth $2million dollars from the Cowboys.
- RickyRicardo : Bowen's had quite a few injuries. He hasn't played a whole season for about 2/3 years now. Apparently he's recovering well from the last one though.
- Guest_3620 : Yeah but they have only been injured like once and thats now and abit last year for Bowen. Oh who cares it's just a article anyway.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : bowen was injured not that long ago gidley is this season so far.......
- Guest_3620 : who wrote that NRL injured allstars side? Farah never gets injured, Grothe hasnt for years, Gidley never does, this year was like the 1st and Same as Matt Bowen.
- Happy Dragon : OMG Hate, can't believe it's u? I've missed u heaps, haven't been on much myself as I've missed my "drinking buddy"! Our beloved teams have a trial game tomorrow, may the best team win, hopefully it's the Dragons, LOL?
- RickyRicardo : Good to hear from you Hate. Hopefully all is going well mate. Hopefully we can have you back here and contributing like the past years.
- Guest_3657 : hey all its hate its been a while ive missed you all espically happy dragon hopefully this yera i may get back on site ,owning your own buisness is long hours but worthwhile but go canterbury bulldogs ,happy hope to be in sydney for a few games I hope
- RickyRicardo : Kemp was already guaranteed a spot. It'll be a young player to take his spot.
- Yeah Bro : Denan Kemp to slot straight in!! i heard he is a handy goal kicker as well!!
- RickyRicardo : Jharal Yow Yeh will be out for 12 weeks.
- RickyRicardo : David Stagg has re-signed with the Bulldogs until the end of the 2012 season.
- RickyRicardo : So who has a club membership?
- RickyRicardo : To my knowledge, Vidot is still at the Raiders yes.
- Guest Who : Some guests know the answers to their own questions. Ha how funny. Gave it away when you sliped up dude. Guess it's the only way to make yourself look good when there's like only few people on this site.
- who da liar : All on fantasty
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Is Vidot stll with RAIDERS
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : driving without license when will when will the westerns learn
- RickyRicardo : Still YB. It's a slap on the shoulder that the NRL doesn't need.
- Yeah bro : Sammut needs to "Justify his Existance!!' out on the footy field this year or he may just end up without a contract next year!!!
- Yeah bro : Jennings will be ok...just a slap on the shoulder.....
- QldRuncivlisedEELZ : whats jennings done ?
- RickyRicardo : Not good news for Jennings there.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : was one of the events watching gallop collarbone ski in the olympics
- RickyRicardo : Apparently he's actually a very good skier, he just got into an accident and broke his collarbone.
- Guest_915 : Not being slack but that would be so funny seeing gallop skiing LOL
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Gidley might be out for longer than expected with an ultrasound revealing a rare injury behind his kneecap.
- RickyRicardo : David Gallop has broken his collarbone after a skiing accident in Vancouver.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : only one i disagree with that will be in top 8 cowboys mmmmmm.....
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : artical on the left storm in top 8 again i cant see why not
- RickyRicardo : I reckon he will. He'll play the full 80, I think. Possibly the minimum he'll play is 65/70 minutes if Elliot goes with a hooker off the bench as well
- Chris : Is Kevin Kingston going to be playing 1st grade for Panthers and if he does will it be 80 minutes?
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Peter Wallace could be a shock inclusion in the Broncos next trial game.
- Guest_2140 : back at newcastle this year
- RickyRicardo : I do yes. It's been quite a while since he played first grade footy.
- Yeah bro : Guest 612 I do...and i heard he is quite making the impression for the Coach at Newcastle training!!! much to the displeasure of my mate whom is a fringe second row first grader!!!!
- Guest_612 : hey Ricky do u remember daniel abraham
- RickyRicardo : Looks like we're finally getting back into the groove of the NRL with a whole bunch of trials this week
- Yeah bro : ..cont a nudie run around wenty park on a sat night come OCTOBER 2010
- Yeah bro : The fantasy comp is going 2 be quite hard this year - come the state of origin part....I have a pretty good track record 4 fantasy...except last year (came like 60th overall)...the aim is to buy cheap and get rid of players for the origin, and look out 4 byes..etc...i cant really give away 2 much more than that...!! Tom Sangster from the Daily Telegarpgh will no doubt get rid of most of my secrets again...im predicting a top 10 overall finish for me this year...anything worse the i would do a nu
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Tugiri still in talks for round 1
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Good to see the value of them go up when you already have them picked
- RickyRicardo : Well there was talk of him returning to the NRL to play with the Roosters, but that was quite few months ago. I supposed he stayed in England. Pretty sure he was playing there.
- Samdiatmh : ricky - do you know what has happened to former broncos hooker gorrell?
- RickyRicardo : I did it with David Stagg last year. He didn't start the year off that well, so I got rid of him whilst he was cheap, then when I wanted to get him back, he went by just over $200,000.
- RickyRicardo : Don't worry YB, we've all done that before, haha.
- Yeah bro : got*
- Yeah bro : The thing with fantasy is that the values do not change up until rd 3...I learnt that lesson last year when i thrw Bronson Harrision at $141,000...
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : You lodge ur selections now u can change them ALL up to 5pm 12th march....
- RickyRicardo : I wouldn't YB. It's only a maybe for him to be back in Rd 1, and he'll take a while to re-adjust to the game. At least I think so.
- Yeah bro : might have to throw Tuquiri in fantasy league team if back rd 1?/ or should I....mmmm
- Yeah bro : Guest 4710- u joining nrlnews fantasy comp and which suburb from the Druitt are you from?? I am not the biggest South Syd fan either- personally I thought they were lucky to be bought back in the NRL...Russ Crowe has done a decent job of marketing the Bunnies though....
- RickyRicardo : Morris has grown up his whole life coming through Harold Matthews, SG Ball, NYC, NSW Cup and now the NRL. Burgess has come straight out of the English Super League where the intensity and the flair are at a much higher standard. I'm not sure if Burgess can cope with the transition. And if he does, then it'll take him at least half the season to do so.
- Guest_4710 : Hey Ricky, I agree with the faster pace, but more mentally draining? If blokes like Josh Morris can handle the metal pressure, I'm sure Burgess can struggle along...
- RickyRicardo : I think with the majority of players that play in an Indigenous side, the NRL does investigate to make sure that they qualify to play for the side. Unless a player receives a special provision of some sort, he is ineligible to play for an Indigenous side if he is not an Aborigine or Torres Strait Islander.
- Guest_4710 : No disrespect to our indigenous brothers, but I'd be asking for some family history before I hand him a jersey for next year's game. Benny here's some free advice, buy a bottle of Clarol dark brown hair dye and save yourself all the nasty whispers...
- RickyRicardo : Honestly, I don't think Burgess is worth all the hype. I don't think he can handle the fast-paced, quick-thinking and more mentally draining NRL. He'll go alright, but I don't think he'll set the world alight and play consistent footy.
- Guest_4710 : Lote is only one player. They proved last year that they just have no consistent form. One week they look the goods and the next week St Mary's under 7's would touch them up. Nope, no hope, best bet is some decent club picks up that big pommy kid. He's half decent and a talent waisted at Redfern.
- RickyRicardo : Any team is capable of pulling off the unthinkable on their day.
- RickyRicardo : It would have been Ben Jones. He actually does have some Aborigine in his blood if I'm not mistaken.
- RickyRicardo : I know YB. But it looks like Lote might be able to get an early release from England.
- Guest_4710 : Wesser!!! His best is well behind him. Nope, Rabbits are shit, pure and simple.
- Yeah bro : Lote rd 1?? i thought rd 4 or 5??
- RickyRicardo : I wouldn't underestimate the Rabbits as they have the potential to challenge, but I think the fact that they've been talked up for the past few months will weigh them down.
- Yeah bro : Rabbits to come either 8th or 9th!!! at the best!! Sandow still questionable along with Wesser!!
- Guest_4710 : Did I already mention that the Rabbits are shit? Well, they are..
- Guest_4710 : Hey and who was that 'indigenous' ranga? Give me a break.
- Guest_4710 : Rabbits are shit, they have no chance either. I've got a better chance of making the 8 than Rusty's boys....
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Lote might play in Rd 1 after all.
- RickyRicardo : That's exactly what I do with my fantasy teams. Particularly with the forwards and halves, I get players that most wouldn't go for, yet still play regularly and score good points.
- Yeah bro : 4407 he will only get a start if Stagg plays origin...and that is only a IF!! whats crud about this years fantasy is that every one will have Ryles, Cayless, Burgess and Fulton in thier fantasy teams....i suspect the first 8 rounds will be nothing in it...I suggest that you try and be a bit creative in the first 2 rounds and throw up a couple of players who would not expected to score big....i.e like Shillington and Campese last year...the first 3-4 rounds they nailed it!!!
- RickyRicardo : If anything, he'll start off the bench most likely, but there's no guarantees.
- Guest_4407 : hey fellas im looking at putting dene halatau in fantasy side... reckon he'll get a run??
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : i wouldnt say knights or sharks wooden at this stage
- RickyRicardo : Whilst Mini will get back to some good form, I don't think he'll be able to emulate the form of 2005. He has been out of the game for long patches and the tempo of the game has changed meaning he'll take a while to get used to it all again. I'm not doubting his ability though, I just don't think he'll get into the elite group again.
- Yeah Bro : Im going out on a limb and I am predicting that Robbie Farah will WIN this years DALLY M medal!! you have heard it here first!!!!!
- Yeah Bro : How is this for a $1 bet; Coleman Medal 2010 Lance Franklin 4.00 NBA Cleveland Cavaliers Winner 3.10 Cronulla Sharks Wooden Spoon 6.00 French Open Rafael Nadal Winner 1.85 French Open Women's Winner Justine Henin 3.00 World Cup Host 2018 England Winner 2.75 World Cup - Outright Winner Brazil Winner 5.50 Moto GP 2010 Valentino Rossi Winner 2.55 paying $15925.81 /1 haha...Cronulla and Knights both at $6/1 at this respective agency!!! thoughts??
- Yeah Bro : fellas; Sharks or Knights for wooden spoon?>?
- Chris : For supercoach? If so it's 962195.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : whats the code to get in the fantasy LEague ?
- Chris : I'm not sure if he will be, but you might find out next week for the Foundation cup match, as they are making a near full strenght team.
- Guest_2679 : hey chris u reckon tupou will play front row for the tigers
- Chris : He could, in the trial agaisnt the Roosters it said he had a great game and really controlled it.
- Guest_2679 : or maybe not
- Guest_2679 : brett seymour could be a good buy if he stays off the piss!
- Chris : Oh i thought he ment just having a good season maybe getting back to rep. He might play fullback depending on Anasta's injuries and Carney's form at fullback.
- Yeah Bro : i wish Minichello all the best...he deserves a break...but just can see him getting more than 10 dally m points for the 2010 year!
- Yeah Bro : Minichello will be playing on the wing...please name the last NRL winger to get DALLY M ??
- Chris : He does have a chance, Yeah Bro.
- Guest_2679 : why u think minichiello hasnt got a chance yeah bro?
- Chris : Minichiello should have a great year if he doesn't get injured. Hopefully his injury free he really deserves it.
- Yeah Bro : Guest_2679 = not a chance in hell...Farah at $21/1 is screaming pick me!! Luke Lewis is offered as much as $81/1 by a certain net betting agency!!! wow!!!!
- Guest_2679 : anthony minichiello as the dark horse... if injury free could see him back to "the world's best player" like in 2005?
- RickyRicardo : Gidley is out for 4-6 weeks apparently, but I'd be leaning more towards the 6 weeks.
- Yeah Bro : how long is Kurt Gidley expected to be out 4?? if not long jump on him....we need work together here for the best value...other value i see is; well Ennis $26/1, Watmough$26/1, and Luke Lewis is not even quoted...so im guessing he would be at like $81/1 ..i can find out if that is the case...and i would be more than interested in jumping on Lewis at those odds!!!
- Yeah Bro : Chris Sandow 51.00 Braith Anasta 51.00 Todd Carney 51.00 Iaaac Luke 67.00 Izrael Folau 81.00 Michael Jennings 81.00 Pay on the winner of the 2010 Dally M. Dead heat rule applies. Quote Others
- Yeah Bro : Cooper Cronk 29.00 Mitch Pearce 29.00 Jamie Lyon 34.00 Peter Wallace 34.00 Greg Bird 34.00 Darren Lockyer 41.00 Trent Barrett 41.00 Luke Walsh 41.00 Brett Seymour 41.00 Kurt Gidley 51.00 John Sutton 51.00 Sam Burgess 51.00 Isaac De Gois 51.00
- Yeah Bro : Ok fellas.....Dally M medal market is now out on a few respective betting agencies, the list is exhaustive but here is a few candiates; Dally M Medal - Jonathan Thurston 9.00 Jarryd Hayne 9.00 Scott Prince 12.00 Benji Marshall 13.00 Billy Slater 15.00 Jamie Soward 16.00 Brett Kimmorley 17.00 Greg Inglis 17.00 Cam Smith 17.00 Terry Campese 21.00 Robbie Farah 21.00 Brett Stewart 26.00 Jarrod Mullen 26.00 Michael Ennis 26.00 Anthony Watm
- Yeah Bro : lol Guest_4407 wants tips on how to improve his NRL Daily Telegrapgh fantasy team
- RickyRicardo : The Tigers need to prove that they are a contender. They've had good sides before and failed miserably. Anything less than a finals berth for Tim Sheens, and he'll be gone. And I think Tuqiri will have a few good things here and there but won't set the world alight.
- Guest_4407 : and what about lote tuqiri?? reckon he'll get a start first round??? this tiger outfit looks deadly!
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Locky has been cleared of any serious injury. Yow Yeh on the other hand, will be out for 4 weeks.
- RickyRicardo : And it looks like Gidley has been cleared of serious injury, but he'll still be out for a while.
- RickyRicardo : If I'm not mistaken, they had a rotation between Iosefa and Romelo I think.
- Chris : Who was Panthers hooker last year?
- RickyRicardo : I reckon he will start yes. Most likely in the second row.
- Guest_4407 : anybody out there..... over
- Guest_4407 : reckon he'll start?
- Guest_4407 : how about mitch aubusson rickY?
- RickyRicardo : For me, Iosefa is out of the equation. With Kingston at the Panthers, he'll play the entire 80 minutes. If I were coach, he'd be there for the 80 mins. And Fulton is a 50/50 chance. If he doesn'y get a starting berth which is unlikely with Heighington and Ellis as Sam pointed out starting, he might get a spot on the bench.
- Guest_4407 : ok cheers mate ..sounds likr it makes sense
- Samdiatmh : kingston will be in rotation with iosefa, just like he was at eels.... fulton could get a game with heighington adn ellis in the back row
- Guest_4407 : ???
- Guest_4407 : hey dudes u reckon kingston and fulton r gonna get a starting postion this year?
- Yeah Bro : boots*
- Yeah Bro : yeah tell me about it...i laced on the boatd for a local comp 2 years ago and wlaked away with a severly dislocated left shoulder....2 much weightlifting and not enough speedwork i would imagine!!
- RickyRicardo : I think footballers are becoming more well-rounded these days as in, their fitness levels are high in a variety of fields, rather than just one. It's just the way the game seems to be developing.
- Yeah Bro : just read the Daily Telegrapgh- and are we seeing the decline of the NRL strongman?? years ago we had guys like Kylie Leulai benching 220 kilos and now George Rose has the biggest bencj of 180 kilo's...maybe it is all part and parcel of how the modern age footballer is forming into....!!
- RickyRicardo : side*
- RickyRicardo : The good thing with the Titans is that they have a lot of options to choose from. Personally, I'd be inclined to play Greg Bird at lock, which means that Ashley Harrison would move into the second row. That means that Mark Minichello would start off the bench and probably replace Brad Meyers or Aaron Cannings. That means that William Zillman would move to fullback, and Preston Campbell would move into the halves. Something like that would work well for them. But a lot of options is good for a s
- Happy Dragon : Onya Dragons, good start 2 the yr, keep it up! Bring on the dogs next wk, should b a beauty!!!
- Yeah Bro : It is a very stronbg line up and they have plenty of power on the bench with a bit of versaility with Zillman!!! Zillman should have never left Canberra...he would be still starting at f/b there otherwise!!!!
- Yeah Bro : Samdiatmh; i believe the line up for Titans this year will be as follows; 1. Campbell, 2. Tomane, 3, Rogers, 4. Tonga, 5. Gordan. 6 Bird, 7 Prince, 8. Baily, 9. Friend, 10. Henderson, 11. Laffranchi, 12. Minichello, 13. Harrison. RES: 14; B. Meyers, 15. A. Cannings, 16. L.O'Dwyer, 17. W. Zillman....
- Samdiatmh : YB - where will Titans play bird? - 5/8 Rogers, Lock is Harrison
- Samdiatmh : not current, but SBW must have been paid a lot
- Yeah Bro : i reckon the best buys this year will be ; 1. Kevin Kingston, 2. Tahu, 3. Mason (believe it or not), 4. Ryles, 5. Todd Carney and off course Grge Bird...Titans for Minor premiers!! all the players the SHARKS have bought this year are abolsute rejects!!! Knights and Sharks 2 fight out 4 wooden spoon honours!!!
- Yeah Bro : 1. Folou, 2. Asotasi, 3. Anasta, 4. N Myles, 5. L Priddis...most overpaid!!!
- Samdiatmh : I'd say that Folau would be a centre this year, with Winterstein and Yow Yeh as wingers
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Folau overpaid stupid humungas winger
- Yeah Bro : Asotasi = most overpaid player...he has done didlly freaking squate at the rabbitohs since his arrival!! would be much better getting rid of him and buying a decent f/b...wesser best days are past him!!!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : HAHAHHAHA YES u chose my THEORY nice on YEAH BRO
- Yeah Bro : most overpaid player/? i would say Folou...broncs lost Ennis, Hannant and effectively Stagg for him...!!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : I hope so YEAHBRO
- Yeah Bro : Gorrell is crud...Knights must be a shoe in for wooden spoon now...there year will go from bad 2 worse i fancy!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : eels loose trial match
in perth against dragons - Samdiatmh : joined the comp, and what's happened to Broncos hooker Gorrell?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : WHO ya;s rekon most overpaid playr iz
- Yeah Bro : we should have a wager on the fantasy honours...haha.. .BOL 2 all involved!
- Yeah Bro : im the biggest favourite since Mayke Diva!
- RickyRicardo : Good stuff. The more numbers on there from here, the less random people we get added to it.
- Chris : So far, Ricky, Yea Bro and Me are on it.
- Chris : Yes, Supercoach Fantasy.
- Samdiatmh : on the daily telegraph?
- Chris : Samdiatmh, join it too
- Chris : Hello HD, join our NRL News supercoach fantasy if you want
The code it 962195!! - RickyRicardo : Word out of Knights camp is not very well. Thank goodness the Knights purchased Shannon McDonnell during the middle of last season, otherwise they'd be in some strife now.
- Chris : Yeah, it will most likely take awhile. Wonder how Stone is taking this?
- RickyRicardo : But all will be revealed in the coming months. Highly doubt it. Several players, coaching staff and board members are all being interviewed and investigated. It could take several months before the truth comes out.
- Chris : Will they reveal them before the season starts?
- Chris : Oh yes, forgot about that.
- RickyRicardo : Mind you, Gidley's injury should be the last thing on the Knights minds. They have a few skeletons in the closet that are yet to be revealed.
- RickyRicardo : Apart from a few niggles, nothing too serious.
- Chris : Anymore injuries that came out of the Trials or the all stars match?
- Chris : Same and Brian Smith with Anasta
- Chris : Rick Stone must be spewing.
- RickyRicardo : I'm not sure if it was the same as Anasta's Chris, but it could very well have been. Gidley is gone for 3 months minimum in my book. Not to mention the rehab/recovery involved.
- Chris : Might miss the whole season.
- Chris : Was that the same as Anasta? If so Anasta missed alot of games in 09 and will most likey miss the first month for this season. So not good news for Kurt Gidley at all.
- RickyRicardo : ACL as Sam said stands for Anterior Cruciate Ligament. It's basically one of the central ligaments in the knee that helps to keep the cartilage in the knee together. You can either tear the ACL, snap the ACL or break the ACL. I think in Gidley's case, he has broken it if rumours are correct, so that means at least6 months on the sideline.
- Samdiatmh : 4498 - Anterior Cruciate Ligament, means he'll be out for a long while
- Yeah Bro : Chris; dont be surprised to see Hodges reclaim the fullback spot upon his return in late July,..the last time he played at the number 1 position the Bronocs won the comp!!! ala Jarryd Hayne!!
- Guest_4498 : what is a ACL injury
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : All stars game was the most pathetic game in ages like watching 6yr olds that know the right way to fun on the field HA
- RickyRicardo : Rumour has it that Kurt Gidley will be out of the season with an ACL injury.
- RickyRicardo : The Eels are looking for another sponsor in India. Paul Osborne visited India in search of an extra sponsor for the Parramatta club.
- RickyRicardo : Jonathon Thurston will re-sign with the Cowboys within a month.
- RickyRicardo : It's generally just for the trials.
- Samdiatmh : is this quarter business in the NRL for 2010? - or is it just in the trials and other matches
- RickyRicardo : It'll be Josh Hoffman to start at fullback.
- Chris : Hoffmen, Kemp or Lockyer?????
- Samdiatmh : who do you think will be broncos #1 after hodges is out and hunt's moved on?
- RickyRicardo : It's just footy sometimes. Injuries are a part of it unfortunately. All depends on Anasta's fitness. If he is fit, he'll play lock, if not then BS might put him at 5/8 to ease him back into FG.
- Guest_3088 : I reckon when Anasta comes back he will play Lock becasue Carney will be having a blinder at 5.8.
- Guest_3088 : Whats with Roosters with all the bad luck with injuries?
- RickyRicardo : Doubt it. There's been complications with his recovery so he'll miss the first couple of rounds at least. From what they're saying that is.
- Guest_3088 : Do you think Anasta will be ready for round 1?
- RickyRicardo : I'd probably swap Symonds for Cherrington. But apart from that, that's the side that I'd go with.
- Guest_3088 : So from you point of view for round 1 IF Anasta misses out and JWH it will be - 1. Minichiello 2. Perrett 3. Du Plessis 4. Graham 5. SKD 6. Carney 7. Pearce 8. FPN 9. Jaubs 10. Ryles 11. Myles 12. Cherrington 13. Maubs bench 14. Jones 15. Paea 16. Kennedy 17. Symonds
- RickyRicardo : I think so. Maubs is an 80 minute back-rower, so I expect him to play the entire time.
- RickyRicardo : Well the other centre spot is a toss-up between he and Du Plessis as Graham as the other tied down, and Williamson hasn't done much at NYC level nor at club level to suggest that he is ready for First grade football.
- Guest_3088 : If Maubs is playing second row or lock will it be for the whole 80 minutes?
- RickyRicardo : Either way, you need to have Maubs in the side as he is now the club's best defender following Fitzy's departure.
- Guest_3088 : Do you think JP Du Plessis is ready for Rugby League? He scored a hat-trick agaisnt Atherton Roosters.
- Guest_3088 : Even though Mitchell has better ball playing skills and a great defender, i think BS still wants Myles at lock. I would Rather Symonds at lock but it's up to Brian Smith. Yeah Kennedy will probably get it.
- RickyRicardo : It depends on the line-up that BS will go for. Ideally, Du Plessis would start with Williamson missing out. And it's either Kennedy or Cherrington off the bench. Personally, I'd go with Kennedy as he can play in the front row and second row, and he was the Roosters best NYC player last year, so he's got some skills for a young man.
- RickyRicardo : He won't be back until at least Rd 2 if all goes well and he recovers quicker than expected.
- RickyRicardo : SKD would play on the wing. Graham would probably move into the centres. Maubs would be a better lock as he has better ball-playing skills than Myles. Most locks these days are turning into ball-playing forwards. Similar to a Mateo type.
- Guest_3088 : Any chance he will return for round 1 or any trials?
- Guest_3088 : Why would Cherrington or Kennedy miss out wouldn't - Du Plessis or Williamson miss out?
- RickyRicardo : I know he is, I'm just pointing out the transition that will be made upon his return. His recovery is going better than expected anyways.
- Guest_3088 : Was i right with the centre pairing, if Anasta wasn't there?
- Guest_3088 : And Mitchell Aubusson would play second row.
- Guest_3088 : But JWH is injured till round 4. And they said Nate Myles is training at lock?
- RickyRicardo : For the side he does play, again JWH will start in the second row with Myles, moving Maubs to lock, and with that bench, Cherrington will either miss out or take Kennedy's spot on the bench,
- RickyRicardo : You're missing JWH. He'll most likely start in the second row with Myles, moving Maubs to lock, meaning that Symonds will start off the bench. That's for the side if Anasta doesn't play.
- Guest_3088 : If Anasta does play - 1. Carney 2. Minichiello 3. SKD 4. Graham 5. Perrett 6. Anasta 7. Pearce 8. FPN 9. Jaubs 10. Ryles 11. Cherrington 12. Maubs 13. Myles bench 14. Jones 15. Paea 16. Kennedy 17 Symonds
- Guest_3088 : If Anasta misses round 1 it will be looking like - 1. Minichiello 2. Perrett 3. SKD 4. Williamson/ Du Plessis 5. Graham 6. Carney 7. Pearce 8. FPN 9. Jaubs 10. Ryles 11. Maubs 12. Cherrington 13. Myles and bench 14. Jones 15. Paea 16. Kennedy 17. Cherrington
- Samdiatmh : Finch wearing 1 - that was originally Slater's number, but he pulled out due to injury (or Rexonas Greatest Athlete) - and then the melbourne vote went to finch, no reallocations of number
- Samdiatmh : Soward was a 5/8 and came on for Prince/Thurston
- Chris : What positon was Jamie Soward playing? And whats going on with Brett Finch at fullback?
- Chris : Ben Jones had a good game, wouldn't mind seeing Jones for the number 14 jersey next year. It would be a good rotation with Jaubs and Jones. Jaubs the safe player and great defending and Jones that attacking little fast one.
- RickyRicardo : Jennings just got creamed by Soward! Jennings is supposed to be fast as well.
- RickyRicardo : I'm still not convinced by Burgess. Unless he can show that he has the stamina and endurance to play 80 minutes in a tough league consistently, his form might not mean much now.
- Samdiatmh : NRL have really picked up in the last 10 minutes - game on now
- Samdiatmh : Souths have a real coup this year in Burgess, looks impressive
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Travis Waddell is injured as well.
- RickyRicardo : I wouldn't know Sam, Could very well be.
- Samdiatmh : not a good result though.... in other news, is it storm broncos at Rockhampton tonight?
- RickyRicardo : I reckon the season unfortunately. If you hear a twinge or a crack in the knee before the step, it generally means that you've done the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
- Guest_2313 : Yeah, with him feeling the pain before the tackle, could be a knee injury - 2/3 months out i reckon
- RickyRicardo : Kurt Gidley could be out of action for a while if the scans don't go his way.
- Guest_2313 : Put the All-stars game on, it looks fantastic
- RickyRicardo : Looks like there was a good showing at the Warriors/Rooster s game in NZ. 9600 fans went to watch the game. Not a bad effort.
- RickyRicardo : I finished 9th out of goodness knows how many thousand in the Fantasy NRL.com competition last year. I know my way around it.
- RickyRicardo : I've won the last 4 competitions I've been in YB
- Yeah Bro : you guys are sooo going down in fantasy!!! i am the fantasy king....record proves for itself!!! mwhahahah= evil laugh!
- RickyRicardo : The Warriors have beaten the Roosters 26-8 in their trial game this afternoon.
- RickyRicardo : It's a shame really. You just want to enjoy your time at the football and then fans misbehave and ruin it for everyone else.
- Chris : Oh yeah, I remember i was at a Roosters vs Bulldogs match in 03 and it wasnt pretty at all. That was the last time i went to a bulldogs match.
- RickyRicardo : team*
- RickyRicardo : I was at the finals game between the Eels and the Dogs, and about 50 Bulldogs supporters got kicked out for starting fights on fans of their tema.
- RickyRicardo : The Bulldogs would still be up there. A lot of people are angered by the treatment of white Bulldogs fans that are dished out to them by their own supporters.
- Chris : I dont think Bulldogs are still there but,
- Chris : Is it still either. Manly, Roosters, Storm and Bulldogs.
- Chris : Who are the most hated team in NRL?
- Chris : Did you join supercoach qlds?
- RickyRicardo : Hehe. There's always people that hate every team Chris, it's just how Rugby League is.
- Chris : Why does everyone hate the Roosters
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : id guess nz well i hope ha
- RickyRicardo : I don't actually. Most trial games aren't generally broadcast or streamed anywhere.
- Chris : Do you know the score? It's so hard to find.. You just have to wait till the end i guess.
- RickyRicardo : That's right. The Roosters named two teams to play in two games.
- Chris : Roosters vs Warriors now, wonder whos winning?
- RickyRicardo : No worries.
- Chris : Ok thank you.
- RickyRicardo : He's definitely a darkhorse player Chris and will definitely get a crack at some stage, so I'd keep in the side.
- Chris : Very happy with my halves, Soward and Thurston should be very good. And bonus becasue they are kicking same as Luke Burt and Todd Carney.
- Chris : I'm in! I have Anthony Mitchell in my team, do you know if he will play FG?
- RickyRicardo : No worries Chris.
- Chris : Thanks, i'll join now!
- RickyRicardo : Just confirming that 962195 is the code to use!
See everyone there. - RickyRicardo : 962195. Discount that number!! Use the one in this post for a private league titled NRL News.
- RickyRicardo : 964173. Use that number to join a league on Supercoach. It's just a public league though, but that shouldn't matter too much.
- Chris : qldsRuncvilisedE ELZ*
- Chris : Hello, just wondering if anyone wants to do a private league for Supercoach or Foxsports fantasy.. Ricky, QldsRu, ncilisedelz, Yea Bro, HD, Jess, and Liam you can all join and some others that are regulars. Will do it under NRL news or something??
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : yip yip fantasy has activated creations for ur side
- Chris : Have Roosters found there Centre that they have been missing since Ryan Cross?
- Chris : The Sydney Roosters have defeated the Atherton Roosters 68 to 18 in Atherton on Friday evening. South African JP Du Plessis created history by scoring off his first touch of the ball in the trial game with his match total of two trials helping the Roosters to the final score.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Puzzled to see how few indig. players are classified to play in that side
- RickyRicardo : I don't know the final score, but I know that the Titans were beating the Broncos Under 20 side (I think) 40-0 at one stage.
- Chris : Manly defeated Sharks 18-4.. Any more trials that have released the results?
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Jamal Idris is in doubt for the All-Stars game as well.
- RickyRicardo : Honestly I don't dude. Not a lot of places show trial games live nor do they broadcast them on the radio or the internet.
- Chris : Hey Ricky, do you know where i can find a source to find out the score live for Roosters vs Atheron??
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Hope to get the wooden spoon winnings again for this year HA HA shall place it around round 3 again....... premiership dont think will bother
- RickyRicardo : I just don't think that Todd Carney at fullback will work.
- Yeah bro : Lewis...Dally M...mmmmm..could be some value there boys... Ricky- if your'e thinking the Roosters will go ok this year- then why not Todd Carney??
- Yeah bro : Last year i threw $100 on Jaimie Soward - $51/1 at the beginning of the year to get the Dally M award...i had a feeling that the Dragons would sine under Bennett and I was right...however, as we all know Hayne pipped him at the line.. luckily i hedged with Hayne and still collected a cool $1500 for my efforts....JUST THINKING WHO IS THE VALUE FOR 2010?? the odds for Dally M are not up yet...but yeah get in early while ya can- that is what i would suggest!!
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : grothe has colourful sleeve tatts
lol - qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Rookie will be looking good this year some nice one's i see
- Chris : Dally medal is always tough to pick, mine would be either Farah, Smith, Thurston and Lewis (depending on Panthers). But wouldn't be surpised to see some shocks.
- Chris : Oh ok. Terrible news about Boyd Cordner, really thought we would get a crack at FG sometime this year. So far 3 major injuries for Roosters.
- RickyRicardo : Something that looks like Arabic. Something weird.
- Chris : Whats that link that Guest_308guest_9 16 is showing? I dont want to click it incase virus..'
- Guest_308guest_916 : «link» i
- RickyRicardo : I'm an actually an Eels man
It's always the usual contenders for the Dally M, but I'll go with Luke Lewis as a roughie. - Yeah bro : I think the Roobie Farah will get lightning close to the Dally M playe rof the year this year!!along with Hayne off course...any roughies you would like to throw up ?/? guys?/ my bigest roughie this year would most likely be John Sutton
- Yeah bro : Ricky im guessing ur a loyal rooster fan...?? i honstly can not see them craking the 8...but then again it is the NRL...anything can happen!!
- RickyRicardo : Boyd Cordner has torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament and will miss the rest of the season.
- Guest Who : Mother always said not to speak with a mouth full.
- Guest Who : Who's got an Oral story.
- Guest_2679 : moral
- Guest_2679 : yeah man the morl of the story is dont smoke tooo much pot hahaha
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : ha that makes alot off sense HA
- Guest_2679 : yesh qlds
hahah - Guest_2679 : actually i wouldnt trust that... the dude that told me was a fully blown pothead hahah
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : ur dipsey tonight guest 2679 woop woop HA
- Guest_2679 : i heard wally lewis maybe making a comeback.. he'll only get a run on the wing tho
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : HAHAHAHAH 2679
- Guest Who : Bring back the Bruce.
- Guest_2679 : nah man im ya full quid... lost a few brain cells from smooking too much pot but
- Guest Who : Because most of the time no 1s home.
- Guest_2679 : oh hang on my left indicator is fucked
- Guest_2679 : nah guess who they're on dude!!!
- Guest_2679 : ok cheers ricky
- Guest Who : 2679 is you lights out?
- RickyRicardo : Williamson is a player for the Roosters and can play on the wing or in the centres.
- RickyRicardo : Linnett won't start in the side. Not enough experience but a great prospect. Carney will most likely be playing fullback. Ryles and FPN will start in the Front Row, at least I'd have them starting there.
- Guest_2679 : Hey dudes who's this Williamson fella everyones talking about? what position/club he playing for?
- Guest_1585guest_97 : «link» i
- Guest_3987guest_97 : «link» i
- RickyRicardo : I reckon the Roosters are the surprise packet YB.
- Guest_156guest_973 : «link» i
- RickyRicardo : You can stop posting that link now Guest.
- Guest_3771guest_97 : «link» i
- Guest_4382guest_97 : «link» i
- Guest Who : Ryles & Paea and maybe Myles to front row. What do you think of Phil Graham at 1 Mini 2 Perret 3 Anasta 4 Lennett 5 Carney 6 & Pearce 7 with Conn ,Guerra ,Cordoner and Williamson or Liam Foran hooker or Friend.
- Yeah Bro : Other than that there is not 2 much discrepancies in our pics...I go 4 the broncos have done so since 88- but believe that this will be our first year since 1991 that we will miss the 8...Canterbury is a reckoning force....might have to actually throw them in at 3rd instead of 5th!!! Melbourne last year automatically lost 6 points due to origin...that will not happen this year!!!
- Yeah Bro : Ricky- I got the link....Roosters 4th spot?/ u gotta me kidding me!!! they will get pumped AGAIN first round against the Rabbits and by round 9- Ray Hadley WILL once again be calling Brian Smith's head...
- RickyRicardo : BS has a lot of options to work with in the second row, so he'll pick the one he thinks will be best. Hard to say for sure what he'd go with. Personally, I'd have JWH off the bench with Myles and Maubs starting in the second row and Symonds at lock.
- Guest Who : That might be a good move by BS. Young Cherrington will be one to watch out for. He could be his sec. row partner along with Waerea-Hargreave s. Tom Symonds at lock not bad combo?
- RickyRicardo : James Aubusson didn't really get much of a run last season because of injury. Mitch is the better brother and he was one of the best defensive centres in the game. The move to the 2nd row will only make his defence better.
- RickyRicardo : tackles*
- RickyRicardo : Mitchell Aubusson makes quite a few tackles as well. That's why he is moving into the second row this year. Second rowers are traditionally players who make more tackels.
- Guest Who : I don't think James is as good a player as his brother. I think Ricky you have the two mixed up. James is the one makes lots of tackles and the clubs best defender. Mitch is the attacking centre.
- RickyRicardo : I guess it all depends on when they get on really.
- Guest Who : Diniel come talk to Ricky and who. We like you.
- Guest Who : Why does Diniel not post at same time?
- RickyRicardo : role*
- RickyRicardo : And in regards to your question, I think James Aubusson will get the starting hooker ole.
- RickyRicardo : It's just when you don't post for a certain period, you're name disappears from the top.
- RickyRicardo : Trust me, I'm still here the whole time Guest.
- Guest Who : Maybe they both can not exist at the same place at the same time!
- Guest Who : Why is Ricky gone when new guest Diniel come?
- Guest Who : Liam foran will he get first go at hooker or do you think an outsider kouparitsas might be the starter? Or isJames Aubusson more to a structured BS style of play?
- RickyRicardo : He has the talent to be a great player and he did show flashes of brilliance, but being young and famous has its downsides as we saw in Friend's case.
- Guest Who : He needs to become a man first. Then he will become better player. No great player I think.
- RickyRicardo : If Jake Friend can stay out of trouble and show that he is ready for NRL again with getting in trouble due to alcohol-related incidents, then the Roosters will most likely take him back yes.
- Guest Who : What about Friend? Will Roosters take him back?
- Guest Who : Good he back with choocks. What is happening with Friend? Still working coffee shop & training for comeback after latest court case? Will the Roostets have him back? He had lots of chances to make things good. But big head of league player once again means he in other world to this.
- RickyRicardo : No more major signings as of yet apart from those that have happened. And Williamson just had a few personal issues that he had to deal with.
- Guest Who : What willamson have wrong with hima?
- Guest Who : What's been happening. Who signed who?
- Guest Who : Guest Whos back.
- RickyRicardo : And Williamson is fine now. He has fixed most of the major problems he was experiencing.
- RickyRicardo : It's hard to say Chris. Chances are he won't as most youngsters whilst great prospects and really impressing don't yet have all the qualities for First Grade. But you never know. Personally though, I'd say that he won't get a spot on the bench,
- Chris : And also, Is Ryan Williamson fine now? I know his back at training now but is everything under control ?
- Chris : Hey Ricky, do you know if Tinirau Arona from Roosters might get a shot on the bench for round 1, i heard his impressing the coaches. Alot of juniors this year, really impressing coaches from all team, what great news.
- RickyRicardo : Inu is unfortunately, the one that I think will miss out for 2011.
- RickyRicardo : Fantastic name you have there. Shame you won't be around long enough to use it on a regular basis.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : give inu away lol
- RickyRicardo : That's why the Panthers want him. Some fans are foaming at the mouth just at the thought of Inu and Jennings on the right hand side.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : grothe and burt havent signed yet but are keeping inu as well......
- Chris : We dont need him really anyway. Imagine Inu and Jennings if he went to Panthers, how good would that be.
- RickyRicardo : Not at the moment. He was before, but the interest of Inu to the Roosters seemed to die down somewhat.
- Chris : So not Roosters? Damn! Oh well.
- RickyRicardo : Inu is rumoured to be going to the Bulldogs, the Rabbitohs, the Sea Eagles and the Panthers at this stage.
- RickyRicardo : Ah I see. For 2010 Inu will most likely stay yes, but he seems the one most likely to go for 2011.
- Chris : Thinking*
- Chris : Ye that's what i was think to for the 2010 seaon, Where will he be going? I know in 2011 now that his rumoured to 3 clubs?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : but isnt inu going in 2011...... i talking for this season plans
- RickyRicardo : Burt is just about to agree to a deal that'll see him stay at Parramatta for most likely the rest of his career. Grothe wants to stay and is willing to take a pay cut to do so. Inu is the one most likely to go.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : will burt sign
lets see ay
he hasnt not signed yet nore has grothe - RickyRicardo : There you go YB. See if that works for you.
- RickyRicardo : «link»
- Yeah bro : Na cant find it Ricky... can ya repeat it?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : ROUND ONE: parra, nql, dogs, storm, titans, souths, tigers....... This wouldnt be my list for the comp
2 changes in possible - RickyRicardo : poor*
- RickyRicardo : I think the Sharks signed Kelly more for the depth if anything to be honest. He is a great prospect, but his behaviour and attitude is very poot.
- RickyRicardo : See if you can find an article from about a week and a bit ago YB, and you'll see my predictions. It's called Ricky's 2010 Season Predictions and Analysis. Click on the editorials feed under the heading categories and you can find it there, or just do a search for it on here.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : illbe back sarv to put in my predictions
- Yeah Bro : Also does anyone reckon Albert Kelly has made the wrong choice of club this year?? i cant see him getting a run behind Barrett and surprise packet Scott Porter...Maybe Souths would have been a better option for the 200 Aussie schoolboy member as Sandow is out of form more often than Chris Gayle!
- Yeah Bro : i know its still early days but Ricky, Chris ur predictions please...
- Yeah Bro : Titans last year came third and they had a few injuries throughout the year in Bailey and Minichello, the acquiition of BIRD will do wonders for this club...REMEMBER last time Bird was playing for Cronulla they were equal MP on points after 26 rounds in 2008...I have gone through every fixture and they are my results
- Yeah Bro : 2010 early predictions; After rd 26; 1. Titans 40, 2. Dragons 38, 3. Storm 38, 4. Parramatta 36, 5. Bulldogs 36, 6. Wests Tigers 36, 7. Cowboys 34, 8. Panthers 30///9. Rabbits 26, 10. Broncos 24, 11. Manly 22, 12. Raiders 22, 13. Warriors 20, 14. Roosters 18, 15. Sharks 16, 16.Knights 14
- RickyRicardo : And I'd say Williamson would get first crack in light of injuries to the backline but Du Plessis is also an outside chance as he has been impressing coach Smith.
- RickyRicardo : Inu at the moment looks like he might be headed to either the Rabbitohs, the Roosters or the Sea Eagles in 2011. No club has made a move as of yet.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : quite some fantasticness coming for this season
hope it keeps up throughout the season
- Chris : And yes there is big wrap on Ryan Williamson, but he did take off sometime to refresh, hopefully that didn't make him unfit or something.
- Chris : I dont think any of them will get the first shot at centre, but if injuries Williamson will probably, Our centre pairing is Kenny-dowall and Phil Graham but if injuried Williamson or Blair should get a crack or John L( dont know how to spell his last name) Du Plessis isnt ready for first grade. You might want to ask Ricky, he knows more information,
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : YEAH BRO.. good wraps for williamson i believe so too
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : SANDOR EARL is out off the nrl game??? JAKE FRIEND IS were ?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : can deal with the loss off inu.... he is a selfish player
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Nuh i not on ur bet that titans have MP but with ya for knights woodspoon YEAH BRO
- Yeah bro : Chris; u reckon Williamson, Blair and Plessis will get picked for the starting side?? NEED TO KNOW FOR FANTASY LEAGUE PURPOSES...I hear they have big wraps on Williamson
- Yeah bro : Chris;
- Chris : But then again, we dont need him with Williamson, Blair and Plessis and many more young centres we have got.
- Chris : Rumour going around that Inu could be head to East at Roosters. Not sure if it's true but it would be a good signing. I'm not sure if it was this year or 2011 he could be coming.
- RickyRicardo : And it looks like Eric Grothe is keen to stay at the Eels for several more years after this year. Could it be the end of Krisnan Inu if that's the case?
- RickyRicardo : Well it could have to do with growth hormones, depending on just how many drugs they've taken. It's to do with drugs yes, but I can't say the players involved right now.
- Yeah bro : If only betting agencies could let us do a Minor Premiership/ Wooden spoon multi bet...I would have Titans for MP and Knights for the spoon!
- Yeah bro : Ricky am i close to the money??
- RickyRicardo : The Knights will be in the papers for a bigger reason than just injuries over the next couple of months, let me tell you that much.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : haha KNIGHTS FOR BOTTOM 5 on ladder
YEW!!!!! - Yeah bro : Knights look terrible on paper this year..in addition to this i have been informed by a reliable source that Taia, Patterson, Ciraldo, Naiqama are still under an injury cloud and may miss rd 1 kick off.....they may miss the 8...just depends how much GROWTH HORMONE they are given by the trainers!!!!
- Guest_785 : I think they are 1 person
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : newcastle to eat shit
- RickyRicardo : I know who 785 yes, but I can't say right now. And okie dokie.
- Guest_785 : got to go Ricky talk later tonight
- Guest_785 : any idea who
- RickyRicardo : Honestly, I think they might miss the 8. They have on paper, one of the weaker sides in the competition, and with the Danny Wicks saga behind them, it might put them off. Not to mention that several other high-profile players are also being investigated as we speak.
- Guest_785 : how u reckon newcastle will go this year
- RickyRicardo : Hi 785.
- RickyRicardo : Here we go again. This time. I'm not even going to bother at all. It's only a matter of time before you're all banned just like your other cronies have been. I'm leaving it at that as I simply don't have the time to sit here and argue with you all.
- Guest_785 : hi ricky
- RickyRicardo : Tahu has put on weight? He looks almost the same as he did when he left to play Union. If anything, he's bulked up more as he showed after weightlifting 140 kg.
- Guest Who : Well well the truth is cominga out. We should comea together see who is Who.
- Guest 3152 : You and Ricky are the same person. Ricky uses computer laptop number of mobiles to post under others. There are like only four people on this site. Ricky makes himself look good by asking himself questions as another person. And yes you both are then fags since Ricky is a homo. No wonder he likes hanging around footy players. Bet Ian Roberts knows Ricky real well.
- Dee Tee : Ricky is a fag I'm a man.
- Guest 3152 : Anyways we should all meet.
- Dee Tee : G 3152 its past your bed time..
- Dee Tee : R.R im the real 4771...
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : Catch ya's cya
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : find all stars game a crock off poo...... like it if some unwanted stars get injured Ha HA.... b4 round one a match nuh rubbish shouldnt b on
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : not pumped for this weeks game
..... Tahu unsure about him this year - Guest_4771 : That what I think.
- Guest 2142 : Hello sll
- Guest_4771 : Tahu has put on heaps of weight since he left RL and with the pace of game alot quicker i the Tahu will struggle in the centers maybe second row...
- Guest_4771 : Looking forward to this weekends match.. regardless of all players that cant play. you wont see that much talent in one game ever.
- RickyRicardo : If Tahu's weightlifting feats are anything to go by, then he'll have no problem with his hamstrings this year. He broke the Eels club record after he weightlifted from memory, 140 kilos.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : alot off playrs have got nicely shaped and toned in the off season
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : side
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : if tahu is clear all year it will be fabuolus
- RickyRicardo : The Eels definitely have some very good depth this year which they'll use to their advantage should injuries/Origin force some players out of club games.
- RickyRicardo : No worries 4783. Firstly, welcome to the forums and make yourself a name to become a regular.
- Guest_4783 : Ricky, thanks for your Eel Starting 13. How good is the side when you have players like Cayless, Smith and Inu missing the 1st 13?
- RickyRicardo : It could very well be Minichello, I'm not disputing that, Stewart just seems to be the next man-in-line if Hayne is injured between now and then.
- Guest_4292 : why not minichiello
- Guest_4292 : w
- RickyRicardo : Hayne seems to be pretty fit and raring to go judging by first-hand accounts. It's be Stewart if anyone that would take his place.
- Guest_4292 : Hayne will get 1st shot but unless injured
- Guest_4292 : any bet, stewart will or gidley
- Guest_4292 : if slater is ruled out an just say hayne is ruled out too, will minichiello play fullback?
- RickyRicardo : It's getting out of hand. Billy Slater is set to be the latest casualty if he doesn't pass a fitness test.
- Mocco : The All Stars game is starting to look like the NFL Pro Bowl. So how many more stars will drop out? I bet if it was a Grand Final it would be a different story!
- RickyRicardo : 1. Hayne 2. Grothe 3. Reddy 4. Tahu 5. Burt 6. Mortimer 7. Keating 8. Poore 9. Keating 10. Fui Fui Moi Moi 11. Shane Shackleton 12. Nathan Hindmarsh 13. Feleti Mateo
- RickyRicardo : Well it all depends on what DA decides to go with, but my starting 13 would be as follows.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : inu off to souths i can like that
- Guest_4783 : Ricky, who will be the Eels starting line up 1 through 13?
- RickyRicardo : I agree Wombat. If gives those waiting in the wings to show their worth whilst playing for their country. It'd be a great game to watch, but the NRL is stingy about the games that take place. They were reluctant to have the current All Stars v Aborigine side, but the Players Association and several corporate bosses at the NRL convinced them to get it started, and they did.
- wombat : understand the problems, i just think it would be great to see as a one off game each year, then the top players can still rep for Australia at international level.
- RickyRicardo : Guys like Greg Inglis, Jonathon Thurston, Justin Hodges, etc. would have to forfeit their spots in the Aussie side, to represent their heritage in the Aborigines. That's if they wanted to do so of course.
- RickyRicardo : Only problem with that, well the main problem the NRL would have is the fact that a lot of the players would overlap, and so in order for the Aborigine players to represent their pride and heritage, they'd have to forfeit their Australian spots for that game.
- wombat : I would love to see Australian indigenous side V Australia
- wombat : who thinks the concept for the all stars game is not right
- RickyRicardo : Krisnan Inu is rumoured to be headed to Souths in 2011.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : burgess looking a good success for souths
- RickyRicardo : And Mateo will most likely stay Maddog. He's happy at the club, has a guaranteed starting role, and both Anderson and Osborne will do whatever they can to keep him
- RickyRicardo : Jason Clark was an U20's prop/second-rowe r for the Bunnies, but he has recently been elevated to the starting side.
- MADDOG : HEY GUYS I'M A BIG EELS FAN AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS IF ATEO WILL STAY?
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : would say a young gun
- Chris : I was thinking the same thing. Does he play Und 20s?
- Mighty Rooster : Who's Jason Clark?
- RickyRicardo : Eddy Pettybourne and Jason Clark have re-signed with the Rabbitohs.
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : australias greatest athlete should watch.. new series young oconnor in lead off slater yew!!!! big dell classic
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : plenty of teams cheat the system....
- qldsRuncvlisedEELZ : off casue mason is overrated he is a pussy real chick....... webcke on show took him ages surprised and tallis hasnt had much surprised
- Mighty Rooster : I didn't expect Webcke to join too. Wonder how that will go.
- RickyRicardo : Looks like Shane Webcke might be joining Matthew Johns on Channel Seven's rival footy show.
- Guest 2142 : Good night all. i'M going home 2 bang Cock now.
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Well I'm hitting the sack (in more ways than one) haha. Night all. Over and out!
- Guest 2142 : i'M here still.
- Mighty Sydney Cock : What happened to you Guest??? Gone home to cry? Boo hoo
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Mighty Chooky, I've been on all night baby. All night long, oh yeah... All night long.
- Guest 2142 : Well they say 1d u seen 1 Coock uV seen them all Mighty Rooster. U a Rooster fan then?
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Chick maybe. What's 20ish mean?
- Mighty Rooster : Why is it everytime i come on, MSC comes on?
- Guest 2142 : So u R a chick then? MayB about 20ish ha.
- Mighty Sydney Cock : I like bigs cocks and I cannot lie. All you other folk can't deney. La la la...
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Agree with you Guest. But when I said I like a big willy I didn't mean in the Mason sense.
- Guest 2142 : Big Willie is over rated to Mighty. Hope he can get back to his best 4 u guys. He should have bit the bullet & his big head attitude to stay & fight his way back with us at the Roosters. He would have learned a lot more 4m Smith than he will 4m Henrry at Cowboys.
- Guest 2142 : Eels R so over rated. They R over the cap & cheating the sistem.
- Guest 2142 : Me as u would guess am a big Rooster fan. No matter what has happened at the club last year is the best club by far.
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Cowboys. What can I say, I like a big willy!
- Guest 2142 : Mighty. Can I call u Mighty? Who u follow in NRL?
- Guest 2142 : Sorry i'M with a another guest from this site.
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Heya
- MBAR : Hello u all out there.
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Indeed... What more does one need? You single?
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Where is this magic mt?
- Guest 2142 : What more can you ask 4 Magic Mt & a Mighty Cock ha.
- Mighty Sydney Cock : Smooth music hey? Are you a smooth player haha? By the way mate, I'm not with you, I don't play for that team (not that there is anything wrong with that)
- Guest 2142 : i'M at magic Mt. Having a drink & listening to some smooth music in the car Mighty Cock. Oh P.S your here with me.
- Mighty Sydney Cock : What are all you dudes doing tonight?
- Mighty Rooster : I think it works like this, It is $1000k for every points difference in each winning game. e.g. ,If we win a game 10 points to 8,then $2000 is donated by Steggles and $500 by our club...
- Guest_1312 : do bulldogs get like 30-40 million from there sponser, while roosters get 4 million?? Whats the worst club in NRL for that reason.
- RickyRicardo : A lot of the payments from Steggles have to do with player conduct and all as well.
- Happy Dragon : I'm only having a bit of fun, lighten up 257!
- Chris : Just saw Steggles could be giving Roosters 4 million depending on a few things. But
- RickyRicardo : Apart from that though, it's the same news about Inu and Mateo. Inu looks like the one most likely to leave at the end of 2010.
- Chris : And William Z to fullback. So anynews about Eels or just the same about Mateo an Inu?
- RickyRicardo : I'm not too sure actually. I'd probably say lock, given that Preston Campbell will probably be at 5/8.
- Chris : Yeah. For Titans is he playing 5/8 or lock?
- RickyRicardo : I think he'll be a bit rusty. He knows that even one minor hiccup on or off the field, and it's career over.
- Chris : Yeah, i just have to ignored most people about that. Alot of injuries lately. Wonder how Bird will go on his first match.
- RickyRicardo : Which means that my previous posts is void. Greg Bird is there to perhaps replace one of the second rowers or Alan Tounge.
- RickyRicardo : Beau Champion is in the All-Stars side to replace Greg Inglis.
- RickyRicardo : Just ignore what anyone says about dude. A sponsor means money for the club, and the fans have to worry less about not having a sponsor. Just say, wait and see what the results will be.
- Chris : Yeah, i think they mean 1 try is 1 thousand. I have already gotten teased about having Steggles as our sponser not looking foward to tomorrow.
- RickyRicardo : That's what I'm not sure of. $1000 per point, is a quite a lot of money. I guess all will be confirmed for sure, once it gets closer to the start of the season.
- Chris : $2,000 if you convert it, sorry.
- Chris : Oh ok, $1,000 for each point so is that like $4,000 for a try and $6,000 if you convert it? Or just a thousand for each try?
- RickyRicardo : I don't think that's been released yet. At this stage, money wise, we only know that Steggles will give $1000 for all points scored if understood correctly?
- RickyRicardo : Actually I wasn't aware Steggles were in talks with them. I knew of a few others, namely a couple of phone/internet companies and a TV brand, but I actually didn't know they were talking with Steggles.
- Chris : Did you know Roosters were speaking to them Ricky? How much money will they be giving Roosters or however it works.
- RickyRicardo : Greg Bird to take Inglis's spot also.
- RickyRicardo : Alan Tounge, Greg Inglis, Gareth Ellis and Dave Taylor have been ruled out of the All-Stars game.
- RickyRicardo : For the record I wasn't laughing Guest. I was merely saying it wasn't a joke, so that people wouldn't think I'd just posted it there for the sake of it. I think it's great that charity work is going on and I'm all for it.
- Guest_257 : every point Roosters score steggles give $1,000 to charity, so stop laughing ricky an hd. it's actually really good.
- Happy Dragon : I feel like chicken tonight, chicken tonight, LOL
- RickyRicardo : Steggles has been named as the official sponsor of the Sydney Roosters. It's not a joke either, that's their new sponsor.
