Bulldogs confirm Kimmorley for 2009
May 16, 2008
THE Bulldogs could finally confirm the NRL’s worst kept secret today, with leading no.7 Brett Kimmorley inking a 2 year agreement with the struggling Sydney club.
The Cronulla Sharks could live to rue the day they let Kimmorley go, on a good roll in 2008 the Sharks were ever so keen to show Kimmorley the door and it was well known that hard-line coach Ricky Stuart never really liked the style that Brett Kimmorley played.
The Bulldogs on the other hand should be extremely happy with the key signing, already moving heavily into the player market - the Dogs can now build a strong squad around the prominent Kimmorley.
“We’ve needed a quality halfback for a few seasons now and Brett is exactly what we need,” said Bulldogs CEO Todd Greenberg.
“He has a good record at the highest levels of NRL and his experience on the field will be a real advantage for us.”
2009 coach Kevin Moore was also happy with the new signing.
“He’s just the person we want at our Club, we feel he is an ideal representative on the field and in other areas of League” Moore said.
“I think he’ll be an ideal role model and should hit the ground running next year. His training ethic is near perfect, he’s tough, durable and a real competitor.”

- Guest_2308 : Its not just a woman, its anyone. Noone deserves to be glassed, its just as bad as a stabbing and it has become way to common these days. Only way to stop it is to remove glasses or to imposes a minimum jail term
- Hate Qld : Im with you KW,no matter what happens a woman doesnt deserve that sort of treament
- Hate Qld : Hey Jess Reni has had off field issues ,he has missed a lot of training and turning with the wrong attitude,he was a very good mate to mason and sonny bill, once willie walked out followed by sonny now reni wants the same, its followed a pattern where ever mason goes or open his mouth there is trouble, the club shoud have stood up to those bozos a long time ago, their egos was bigger then the game.they will always be remebered for the trouble they caused to the game
- KING WALLY : i hate blokes that beat up on women. they think they are tuff, but they are weak, scared little boys. to glass someone who you love, i cant comprehend that sort of violence.
- KING WALLY : a man is supposed to protect his family, i have no sympathy for bird, i hope he gets a long time, and i hope he has lots of vaseline.
- KING WALLY : i disagree jess, greg bird should be jailed for what he did to his girlfriend, no excuses, no second chance. women should not have to put up with any sort of violence, what he did was horrendous.
- Hate Qld : or look at it this way, would you like to be that girl,or she be your child,or soemoe you know,
- Hate Qld : Hey Jess ,sorry i dont agree with you on the bird issue.no excuses for what he did,not only bird ,but any one giving the game a bad name, out you go,there will alawyas be another star,a lesser known player is dealt with staight away so should the bigger names
- Hate Qld : the bulldogs will be a better club without all those who think they are bigger then the club and the game, careers only last a few years, the game will lats for a long time.
- Hate Qld : Hey guys as much as i like matuia as a player but he have been wanting to be out of the bulldogs for a long time, they should have sacked him a long time ago.It all started back when willie Mason was there ,he tried to show everyone that he was bigger then the game, the bulldogs dont need any "left over mason "types mason for years caused problems for the game,he leads with his mouth bet the bulldogs win a comp before willie and co win anything at all
- Happy Dragon : I don't know how I feel about the Bird situation Jess? I think it's because he lied to the club & he tried to blame his best mate has made things worse! Him & his girlfriend were the only 2 there, I'm sure she never glassed herself? He obviously has issues, but don't know if sacking him is the right thing 2 do?
- Jess. : maybe people will not agree with me on this, but i feel sorry for Greg Bird. he glassed his girlfriend in a heated argument and now his career in Australia or the world even, is ruined. He was dropped like a hot potato, and the people who were his friends and team-mates now don't seem to care. maybe i'm wrong, but from what i have seen i feel bad for him.
- Jess. : oh. okay, thank you NRL News
- NRL News : Maitua has been late or missed training several times and we believe on another occasion turned up under the weather.
- NRL News : Jess - with Maitua, he's wanted out for ages and hasn't show committment. We feel the Bulldogs had no other option but to walk him.
- Jess. : is he a repeat offender? Hate can you fill me in on his past and this situation being a bulldogs fan?
- Jess. : the bulldogs were quick to wash their hands of Maitua. do you think he should have been cut so swiftly? and is it the same at other clubs?
- Happy Dragon : Yes it's all about money these days, no loyalty shown from players or clubs?
- KING WALLY : hey 1497, its pronounced money bill$$$ williams isnt it?
- Happy Dragon : So true 1497, we saw on the news how hurt the dogs players were after SB left! Some of these players obviously think of themselves & not how it will affect anyone else?
- Guest_1497 : sonny bill anyone?
- Happy Dragon : Yeh I've wondered that about other players also? I'm sure ex teammates must feel a little hurt?
- Jess. : that is terrible
wonder if the boys feel like its a kick in the teeth for them when he swore by the dragons - Happy Dragon : Yeh I'm good, yes it hurts me heaps 2 talk about Barrett! I cried when he left the Dragons & I cried when he signed with the Sharks, he was my fav player but not any more
- Jess. : im good and how are you?
- Jess. : damn happy, that is sad, i would be devastated if one of my manly boys did that to us!
- Happy Dragon : Hey Jess, how r u?
- Happy Dragon : Hey KW, yes I know about Barrett & it hurts me heaps! I was a fan of his for a long time & followed his career at Wigan until he signed with the Sharks, it's like a kick in the guts. He said he'd never play against the Dragons, what a liar!
- Jess. : happy
- Jess. : its so confusing and strange to see these boys in their new colours!
- Jess. : i'm glad the new RLW is out to tell me who is leaving which club and going where
- Jess. : hey guys
- Hate Qld : Hey all sorry ive been very busy lately with late lessons.but will try on be on soon,King wally im up nera redcliffe buddy, you are thinking of narang,im about half an hour anyway from suncorp
- KING WALLY : see ya J.
- Jess. : i got to go king Wally, see you later! talk soon, and take care!
- KING WALLY : yeh mason is soft, for the size of the guy he is a marshmallow. if he ran like webcke used to he would be unstoppable.
- Jess. : im so glad Tupou is leaving the Roosters, i cannot stand them!
- Jess. : Mason.. BLEH i can't stand him, and Anasta, or O'meley
- KING WALLY : hey happy see trent barret is going to sharks.
- KING WALLY : mason(NOT)
- KING WALLY : prince.
- KING WALLY : there is so many great players, lockyer, izzy, gidley, the list goes on.
- Jess. : yeah, he is a bit of a favourite though. everyone loves him. As a manly fan i don't really like him playing for Melb, but he is usually great playing for australia, just the RLWC GF exception of course!
- Happy Dragon : Yes he'll do a great job with the Dragons, even though it's like a new team with a few new players!
- KING WALLY : i dont know, it is so hard to chose, slater is a great player, he also has some grubbiness.
- Jess. : or do you think there was someone more deserving
- Jess. : do you think that slater deserved that Golden Boot?
- Jess. : he was only on for a few seconds on ten i think
- KING WALLY : i didnt see him on the news.
- KING WALLY : hey jess, benno will do a great job for the dragons, he is a supercoach.
- Happy Dragon : Hey Jess, yes Bennett looks funny in red & white
- Jess. : hey King wally
- Jess. : haha Benji Marshmallow
- Jess. : he could make 6 year olds look like first grade players
- Happy Dragon : How is Isaac Luke annoying? He's a great player & does the Haka with alot of passion! As 4 Benji Marshmallow, he'll never b at his best again as he's too soft & he's scared of getting hurt again!
- Jess. : do you think he will do a good job at St. George? he will be magic to them
- Jess. : it was weird seeing Benno in St George gear today on the news happy!
- Jess. : Oh P-lease! Isaac Luke is fantastic. He takes the haka very seriously and he is a fantastic player. You have to admit his is a crucial part of the NZ team.
- Guest_3981 : Ive never liked Isaac Luke. He is really annoying to watch, he makes a complete idiot of himself in the haka just watch those facials followed with the hissing and moaning. Isaac watch the All Blacks and learn how to do it properly. B Marshall and M Vatuvei are easily our best players. Go the kiwis!
- KING WALLY : yeh stuart and bellamy both up themselves, wayne bennett would never carry on like those two.neither would sheens or gibson.
- Happy Dragon : Sorry Jess gotta go, I'll b back later
- Happy Dragon : Not much, just catching up with family, what about u?
- Happy Dragon : N
- Jess. : so what are you up to over the silly season?
- Happy Dragon : Yeh me 2, it's like going "cold turkey", it's awful LOL
- Jess. :
i have withdrawal symptoms happy! i miss the game so much!! - Happy Dragon : Sorry I meant cocky & arrogant
- Happy Dragon : Hey Jess, I'm with you. I can't stand Stuart or Bellamy either. I think they're cocky arrogant!
- Jess. : Hey Happy :D:D
- Jess. : Bellamy gets me so mad! i do not like him one bit as coach of NSW!
- Jess. : i wish we had Dessy Hasler! he is the man, and if we had wayne bennett look out!
Craig Bellamy and Ricky Stuart i cannot stand, i think they teach rudeness and bad tactics - Jess. : I have honestly never really liked Ricky Stuart
- Jess. : the cricket is crap i agree King Wally, and i cant stand not losing my voice every week haha
- Jess. : i'm really missing my league
- Jess. : It will be a bit confusing with everyones moves next year
- KING WALLY : yeh, true, he must get into the players heads or something, whatever it is, it works. he will be good for you guys.
- Happy Dragon : Hey King Wally, yes I'm very excited about getting Bennett at the Dragons! Hubby & I can't wait 4 next season, as we feel there is finally something 2 look forward 2? Even the Kiwis showed how much his presence means 2 a team!
- KING WALLY : hahahahaha!
- KING WALLY : id rather pull my own toenails out with pliers than watch a full test match, at least 20/20 is a bit more active.
- KING WALLY : not that long to go now is it?
- KING WALLY : and no nrl.
- KING WALLY : bloody hot
- KING WALLY : shit i hate cricket season.
- KING WALLY : yeh hate q, im in ipswich, you are near the titans home g yeh? hey, happy d, you must be pretty chuffed gettin the likes of benno in the coachin ranks for 09, eh? what he did up here with the broncs is just unbeleivable, unheard of, he is the best coach ever in my opinion, our boys will miss him. he IS the broncos, 09 is gonna be weird.
- Happy Dragon : I love watching him do the Haka, he really gets into it
- Happy Dragon : I agree Jess, Isaac Luke is awesome! U can definitely c the difference in the team when he comes on the field! Even though they bring him on as an impact player, why can't they start him & then give him a break say after about 20mins? Or better still, just leave him on the damn field?
- Jess. : they automatically get themselves into gear and work together when he comes on the field. who knows why he comes off the bench he should be on permanently!
- Jess. : Isaac Luke holds NZ together
- Red and Green : Bein a bunnie fan, im kinda a NZ fan, lol, dont know who from bunnies could make the Aussie side, I still think Isaac Luke will eventuate into the NZ captain, and Chris Sandow will become Queensland halfback once Thurston drops off! peace to all
- Guest_1497 : I'm just glad Steve Price & Bret Tait wasn't on the field - they can't be seen to snub an event they didn't even get to play in.
- Guest_1497 : why did the kangaroos refuse their runner up medals and snubbing the after function - the kiwi's have never reacted that way when we lost all those other league world cups??
- Jess. : where is everyone?!
- Jess. : see you happy :D:D
- Jess. : i got 3 awards, maths english and catholic studies. i try pretty hard so mum and dad will take me to games and let me on here so often haha
- Happy Dragon : Sorry Jess just a short chat, take care talk soon
- Happy Dragon : How did u think u went? What r u going 2 do 4 3mths?
- Happy Dragon : Can't wait as I'm on 2wks hols in 3wks time, looking forward 2 it!
- Jess. : oh well its over, i did my school certificate and now im on 3 months of holidays
- Happy Dragon : How's school been? Can't believe Xmas is nearly here?
- Jess. : oh me too
thats why my best friend and i are planning to go on a lengthy holiday over there

as a sharky fan I am disgusted that kimmo wasn’t resigned as a sharks player for 2 years or more. Kimmo is the heart of the sharks and I think that without him the club will fail.
i feel as if kimmorley should not have gone because without him the sharks are going to be down
also i would like to know if there are any other signings for the sharks other than corey hughes anthony tupo and trent barret please someone reply
