MELBOURNE coach Craig Bellamy will seek a meeting with NRL referees boss Robert Finch after the Storm were again penalised several times early by official Shayne Hayne in their 46-0 win over the Bulldogs.

The Dogs eventually won the penalty count 7-3 and had the Storm pinned back early in the game after the home side was penalised several times in succession.

“I’ll have to talk to Robert Finch during the week, or one of the assistant coaches will,” Bellamy said.

“Under this referee, he always seems to give it to us early.

“I’m not quite sure, I’ll have to go back and look at it because we might deserve that.

“But it seems to be a persistent thing that happens with us with Shayne, so it’s something we need to look at.

“But I think we responded really well.

“We had to make a lot of tackles on our try-line and to come back from that was really good.”

Melbourne were held scoreless until the 13th minute, when skipper Cameron Smith crashed over for his first try of 2008 – one of eight scored by Melbourne on the night.

“I thought they started the game pretty strongly (but) we got hammered again in the penalties,” Bellamy said.
