In a surprising turn of events, the ugly looking attempted tackle of Cowboys forward Manase Manuokafoa against Broncos kicker Peter Wallace was downgraded, allowing the North Queensland forward to take the field this week – however, the seemingly much less dangerous tackle or contact from Hauraki of the Eels was deemed to be not worthy of a downgrade.
Hauraki and the Eels must have been amazed their grade two dangerous contact charge wasn’t downgraded and the player has now been suspended for two matches.
Manuokafoa was charged with making dangerous contact with Peter Wallace after the Broncos half-back had kicked the ball on Friday night. The lunge from the Cowboys forward not pretty with many fearing he would be suspended for at least 1 game.
The Cowboys second-rower had his charge downgraded to a grade one offence and has been cleared to play against the Tigers on Saturday night.
