Recently achieve Origin and Test selection in the past few years, Monaghan has agreed to terms after extended negotiations with the Canberra club.
“Canberra is the place where I grew up and I’ve played the best footy of my career here so it’s a given for me to stay,†Monaghan confirmed
“I’m really looking forward now to playing well for the Raiders and hopefully getting to the semi-finals again this year.â€
The move sets the scene for older brother Michael to re-join the club after experiencing home-sickness in the UK.
Currently playing with Super League outfit Warrington, Michael Monaghan would be a handy pickup for the Raiders who have some strong young talent and a fresh outlook under new coach David Furner.
