Glenn Stewart Suspended Origin 1 Manly NRL 2009Manly’s Glenn Stewart will now miss his debut Origin experience after the NRL judiciary suspended him on the grounds of a dangerous throw last night, consigning the bolter selection to the sidelines where he will be another onlooker as his teammates battle the Maroons.

It’s expected that the NSW Blues’ 18th man Luke Lewis will come onto the bench as NSW set about denying Queensland a record 4th straight series win. The drafting of Lewis was an interesting play, while there is no doubting the form of Lewis and certainly his utility value – the option of Anthony Laffranchi must surely have been thrown around the selection room.

An experienced campaigner with a tough game and all the ball playing skills would have been a nice addition to a Blues side filled with new faces.
