Kurt Gidley Knights 2010Veteran Broncos skipper Darren Lockyer and Knights utility Kurt Gidley have both been cleared of long term injuries after Saturdays NRL All Stars game.

For Lockyer, he is expected to be right for Round 1 against the Cowboys; “There’s a very small tear but nothing too serious,” confirmed Broncos boss Ivan Henjak.

For the Knights, its a slightly worse scenario with scans suggesting key man Kurt Gidley will be out for at least 4-6 weeks with a hamstring problem. Fortunately it wasn’t the ACL in the knee as first thought – which could have been the whole year for the Newcastle playmaker and utility.

For another Bronco in Jharal Yow Yeh, the news was also a little frustrating with the young Brisbane speedster out for 4-6 weeks with a knee problem from the same game.
