The Broncos have managed a strong away win 24-10 over the stuttering Gold Coast Titans last night. The continued improvement in the Broncos has been amazing to watch, written off after a horror opening to their NRL season – the Brisbane side have certainly got their act together, their defence in particular proving strong under pressure last night.

It has been the exact opposite for the Titans. After a strong opening to the year, they have gone into serious hibernation. With the Titans now having lost 5 of their past 7 games in a horror stretch for the fledgling outfit.

In reality, the Titans should have won this game. The chips were all in their favour, they had a 26,000 strong home crowd and they had the Broncos under the pump early, with the Gold Coast up 10-0.

But to their credit, the Brisbane side rallied. They turned away several waves of Titans attack and when the chances came their way – the Broncos capitalised.

The Brisbane win shoots them into 4th spot, with an impressive differential they now leapfrog the Titans and stand ahead of the Roosters and Warriors.

The poor run of form for the Titans looks to have been compounded with key-man Greg Bird injured in tonights loss and set to miss a few weeks.

The Gold Coast are away to the St George Illawarra Dragons next week, it will be extremely tough to snare an away win against the League leading Dragons – with the Titans sliding ladder position set to get worse.

The Broncos host the Roosters in what should be an exciting even contest, the winner getting an added advantage of preventing their close ladder rivals from snaring points.
