Their ambitions are set high, with club Chairman Gerry Gendel excited about the formation of the new club and their potential to succeed and achieve.

Gendel knows a lot about the game having played both nationally and internationally for the London Broncos.

Equally excited about the new venture and club is Kobus Botha, South African Rugby League President.

“The registration of new clubs is important to the growth of rugby league in South Africa and the new National Club Championship is designed to promote, cultivate and entrench new clubs in the national set up,” said Botha.

“This forms part of SARL’s strategy for expansion into undeveloped territories and I for one am very happy with the excellent work being done by so many unsung heroes to promote the sport.”
