After many months of speculation following qualms with his agent, Bunnies hooker Isaac Luke has re-signed with the South Sydney Rabbitohs for four more seasons, until the end of the 2015 season.

In what was a major priority for the Bunnies, the process took quite some time, after Luke had a bit of a public verbal tiff with his managers, the Orr brothers, but all seems to be sorted now.

Luke, who can be described as the key player to the Bunnies team, excelled both for Souths last year, as well as for NZ in the Four Nations, is looking forward to playing with the Bunnies for years to come.

“I’m really happy about re-signing with the Rabbitohs and to be here for four more years is a dream come true,” Luke said.

“I’ve said before that playing with my brothers every week is what I love, and I regard South Sydney as my home.

“I’d like to thank the Members of the Club and the sponsors for their support and patience as we’ve been working on this contract and I can’t wait to represent you all this season and for the next four years as well.”

Shane Richardson, Souths CEO is also very pleased that Luke has made the decision to extend his contract for four more seasons.

“Issac is one of the lynchpins in our side, a very important player in terms of the balance of our team, and we’re really happy to have him on board until, at least, 2015.

“He is maturing as a footballer and as a person, and as a young father it was important for him to secure his future with a Club that he knew would look after his best interests.

“It’s great to have him on board long term alongside players such as Roy Asotasi, Sam Burgess, Greg Inglis and Fetuli Talanoa.

“I’m sure our Members and Corporate Partners will be as excited as we are to have Issac locked in for the next four years.”
