Denan Kemp set to jump ship to Union

With first-grade opportunities likely to be limited with the Brisbane Broncos, winger Denan Kemp has undergone a secret medical assessment, conducted by Super 15 side, the Melbourne Rebels.

Should the assessment be given the all-clear, Kemp will be the 4th former league player to play for the Rebels, with Cooper Vuna, Jarrod Saffy and Luke Rooney all currently at the Rebels.

In what will be a positive for the Shute Shield Rugby competition, should the deal go through, Kemp will be playing for the Parramatta Two Blues in that competition.

As a result, it is expected that Kemp will make his debut for the Two Blues against Randwick this weekend at Granville Park.

It was a punctured lung in Rd 1 of 2010 that ruled him out for the rest of the season, and he has not been able to get back into the first-grade squad since then.

“All going well he will be training with the Rebels from tomorrow and will be up here on Thursday to train with us and turn out on Saturday,” said Parramatta coach Glen Christini.

“It’s a fairly significant signing and outcome if it all comes together.”
