He is a local junior, and after much innuendo, he has made the decision to remain with the Roosters, after re-signing with the club for the next three seasons.

The re-signing is a double boost for Symonds, who has also been named in the City side, for the annual City v Country match, with the young second-rower due to start off the bench.

“This is a wonderful club and I’m really happy to be contracted here long term,” said Symonds.

“We have a great young team that’s been playing together for a while now, and I’m excited to extend my stay at the Roosters and continue to grow with this group of guys.”

For Roosters coach Brian Smith, he is pleased with the re-signing of Symonds, as he sees him as a crucial part of the teams future.

“We see Tom as integral to our future and he has the capabilities to progress to be a strong leader in our club,” said Sydney Roosters Head Coach Brian Smith.

“Apart from his great football talent, Tom is highly thought of by players, members and sponsors alike and we are very pleased to have him on board for three more years as we build to reach our full potential.”
