He is a player of the future, maturing well, and seems to have shored up his spot in the Tigers line-up, and both he, and the club have now received an added boost, with centre Blake Ayshford agreeing to a new 4-year deal with the club.

With his current deal set to expire at the end of the 2012 season, to avoid attracting potential suitors, Ayshford thought it best to re-sign with the club that he loves, and grew up with.

In 48 first-grade games, he has scored 18 tries for the Tigers, since making his debut in 2009.

“I’m really pleased to have my future secure for the next few years as this club is like a family to me so I never wanted to go anywhere else,” Ayshford said.

“We have a strong and pretty stable squad of players which looks likely to be the case for some time to come.

“It’s also great news that Tim [Sheens] has re-signed too as he’s been the only elite coach I’ve worked with.”
