In light of their lack of back-line depth, the St George Illawarra Dragons have brought back former Dragon, Reece Simmonds to the club.

Simmonds made his first-grade debut for the Dragons back in the 2002 NRL season, and went on to play in 48 NRL games for the club, during a 4-year period.

The signing is to shore up their languishing back-line depth, in case more injuries, suspensions and Origin representatives take their toll on the side.

“It was a bit of a surprise but a new challenge that I’m looking forward to,” said Simmonds.

“I’m starting to train with the team now and if the opportunity to play a game does arise I’ll be ready.”
