He is one of the Australians at Hull KR, and he is set to undergo treatment, after learning that he had a blood clot in his leg.
Blake Green, who is a former Eel and Bulldog, was informed of the news, before his club issued a statement of their own to confirm the issue, as the 25-year old prepares for his second season at the club.
“Blake is receiving treatment for this condition in line with medical standards of best practice and further investigations will take place over the coming few days.
“Blake’s health and well-being is our primary concern and, as a result, he will not be available for selection until further notice.
“Out of respect to the player, the club will be making no further comment on this matter.”
In some recent developments surrounding the blood clot Green sustained, the injury may be more severe than the Hull KR doctors had initially expected – with the former NRL player potentially needing surgery to remove the clot.
If he goes ahead with the surgery, he will miss about 6 months of action.
