Riddell to coach the NSW Women’s side

Riddell named as the new NSW Women’s coach

Since retiring from League, he has moved into coaching – with former Eel, Dragon and Rooster Mark Riddell, currently the coach of the Roosters SG Ball side.

Now however, a new coaching challenge beckons for Riddell, with the NSW Women’s Rugby League announcing that Riddell will be their new coach for their 2012 campaign against Queensland.

Riddell, who is known for ‘that’ kicking stance, brings experience and expertise to the world of coaching, in the playing sense.

Julie Nicoll, who is the president of the New South Wales Women Rugby League( NSWWRL), said:

“Mark will be a great asset to the NSW rep girls and will bring a new structure and professionalism that we haven’t had at our disposal before.”

“NSW is well behind our Queensland counterparts in terms of participation numbers and we need to build competitions across all age groups so the future will remain strong and sustainable.”

“It is a new look coaching team that, with the right resources, will lay the foundation for a legitimate pathway for female players, coaches and even referees, who are also an integral part of the game”
