Despite his team’s losses, 6 of them to be exact – Eels prop Mitchell Allgood has been rewarded for his good form, getting called into the City Origin squad, after Keith Galloway pulled out due to injury.
Allgood, who was the Eels 2011 Rookie of the Year earns his first ever rep jersey – in a move that will see Bryce Gibbs moving to prop for City, with Allgood to come off the bench.
It is a just reward for the 22-year old prop, who was solid for the Eels in his debut year of 2011, and has grown from strength to strength in 2012.
“Coming off the back of a great 2011 he’s been really consistent for us this year,” Eels skipper Nathan Hindmarsh said of Allgood.
“It’s a great reward for the hard work he’s put in and I’m sure he’ll really enjoy the week.
“I’m sure this isn’t the last rep jersey we’ll see him in either.”
Allgood joins two of his fellow Eels team-mates in Tim Mannah and Jarryd Hayne, in the City camp, with the City team set to play the Country team on the 22nd April in Mudgee.
