Rory Kostjasyn

The Cowboys have continued their strong retention and recruitment drive for season 2013, with the signing of Melbourne Storm utility Rory Kostjaysn, on a 2-year deal from 2013.

Kostjaysn, who has played in 30 NRL games to date, is regarded as as utility, with the ability to play in the centres, the halves, at hooker and in the back-row – versatility that according to Cowboys General Manager of Football Peter Parr, will be a valuable asset.

“Rory has shown during his time with the Storm that he’s capable of doing a very good job in a number of positions,” Parr said.

“No doubt he will come here with a goal of nailing down a permanent position in our top 17.

“We expect he will make a big contribution to the Cowboys from day one.”

The Storm’s General Manager of Football Operations, Ron Ponissi, says that the club will miss Kostjaysn in season 2013, but thanked him for his efforts with the club.

“Rory is a hardworking and professional player and during his time at Melbourne Storm has filled a number of roles on-field that the coaches have asked of him,” Ponissi said.

“He is a well liked member of our club, he will be missed and leaves with our very best wishes.”
