They would be the first to tell you that a successful bid is still some way away, but there is no harm in planning and preparing for that time to come – with former Kumul player Arnold Krewanty, joining the Papua New Guinean NRL bid, as the Development Manager.

His role as Development Manager, will see him manage the junior development on behalf of the bid, as well as the country’s QLD Cup development programs.

The appointment of Krewanty, will see Shane Morris move to a specialised role when it comes to the delivery of coaches, referees and trainers, as well as the preparation and implementation of the Papua New Guinean QLD cup side.

Brad Tassell, the Bid Chief Executive for the PNG NRL bid, said that they are honoured to have someone of Krewanty’s experience on board.

“I have known Arnold for quite a few years now and I have the utmost respect for him as an administrator in PNG,” he said.

“I know he will be a valuable asset to the organisation as we move towards stepping up our development and Queensland Cup programmes.”

For Tassell, adding Krewanty to the team was essential, due to the continued expansion of the programs that the bid has been undertaking.

“Our national Coca-Cola Schools Programme has doubled in size and we are now extending it to investigate scholarship opportunities in Australia for talented youth coming through the programme.

“Arnold will be full-time hands-on with overseeing the programme and he will be able to concentrate specifically on improving the delivery of the programme through each zone nationally.
