Talented Hull KR hooker signs new long-term deal

Josh Hodgson

He may only be 22, but having won the Player’s Player of the Year Award and the Hull KR’s Player of the Year, the club sought to act quickly on securing the future of talented hooker Josh Hodgson, and they have done just that – re-signing him to a new 4-year deal.

Hodgson made his presence felt in 2012, scoring a total of 14 tries, and gaining his first dose of international recognition – being named in the English Knights squad.

For Hodgson, he is pleased to have signed a new deal with the club, and knows that constant improvement is a must throughout the course of his deal.

“Personally this season has gone really well for me and I’m really happy to have signed this contract,” he said.

“What I need to focus on now is making sure I continue to progress, ensure my form is consistent and prove that this season was not a one off.

“I’m looking forward to getting back into pre-season training once my injury clears up and working alongside Sandy and the boys to give the Rovers’ fans a team they can be proud of.”

Mike Smith, the Chief Executive Officer of the Rovers, said that the club is pleased to have Hodgson commit to a new long-term deal.

“Securing Josh’s services for another four years is fantastic news for the club. He is one of the brightest young talents in the Super League and an integral part of the club’s plans going forward.”
