It may not necessarily be a move or decision that is taken lightly, but in some instances, it has to be done – as former NRL player Steve Southern and the Wakefield Wildcats have agreed to end Steve’s stint with the club prematurely, despite 2 years remaining on his current deal.
Southern, who joined the Wildcats from the Newcastle Knights just this season, made only limited appearances, as a resul of injury.
The former Cowboys and Knights player will return to Australia, as both he and the club agree to a mutual termination of his contract.
â€œSteve had two years left to run but things didnâ€™t quite work out for him for one reason or another, and heâ€™s gone back to Australia,” said Wildcats coach Richard Agar.
â€œAll parties were in complete agreement that this was the right thing to do and we wish Steve all the best.â€
