He had his doubters at the beginning of the season, but as it wore on, he proved that he still had what was needed to play in the NRL – and as a result, Newcastle Knights prop Willie Mason has officially agreed to a new two-year deal with the club.
Joining the club at the midway point of last year, Mason's form was a big reason behind the Knights late-season surge, one that saw him receive the Coaches Award at the Knights award night.
For Knights coach Wayne Bennett, he is pleased with the immediate impact that Mason had for the club, and they are hoping that he can emulate that form over the next t

â€œWe are all looking forward to seeing what a good pre-season can do for him as well as seeing him play with the Knights for the next two seasons.â€
Mason, a Newcastle junior, left the club at age 17, as he looks forward to the next two years with the Knights.
â€œThe deal was done earlier in the year and I am glad all the formalities have now been finalised,â€ Mason said.
