You could say that he has been around the traps a bit, given he has played for three teams – but the Wests Tigers have secured the services of talented prop James Gavet, who has signed a 1-year deal with the club.
Gavet, who is originally from New Zealand, has played just the one NRL game to date – playing for his former side the Canterbury Bulldogs in Rd 23 of this year's season.
The 23-year old, who came through the Warriors ranks at the NYC and NSW Cup level, won the NSW Cup Prop of the Year in 2011.
For the Tigers, they are looking forward to seeing Gavet in action for the club, as he works towards securing a first-grade spot in 2013.
“James is a very mobile prop/second-rower with a good offload and good skills. He is looking to cement a first grade spot,’’ said Wests Tigers Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell.
“He will add plenty of depth to our forward pack. James is in his first week of training at Wests Tigers and has already impressed NRL Coach Mick Potter with his skills and fitness.â€
