It was merely a question of when he would be re-signed as to ensure the Broncos do not lose all of their halves for next season, but the club have confirmed it after earlier reports suggested it – with utility Ben Hunt re-signing for a further 2 years at the club.
For Hunt, he had no plans whatsoever to leave the club.
“I’ve enjoyed my time in Brisbane, there’s a great bunch of blokes and I wasn’t really interested in going anywhere else,” he said.
“I’m happy to be staying.”
So far in 2013, Hunt has played predominantly off the bench coming on to replace Andrew McCullough at hooker but after Scott Prince went down with an injury last round, Hunt had a chance to play in his favoured position – five-eighth.
As a result, he is looking forward at the chance to play regular first-grade football in his preferred spot.
“I’m happy to play any role in the team,” he said.
“Obviously I would like a starting role in the future but I will play wherever Hook (coach Anthony Griffin) wants me.”
