Jamie Foster

Solid wingers can often be hard to find in any form of rugby league, so when you find one as a club, you have to ensure that you do your best to retain him – something the Bradford Bulls understand, with the club confirming that goal-kicking winger Jamie Foster has re-signed until the end of the 2015 season.

Foster, who is still only 22, joined the club from St Helens, has kicked 38 goals for Bradford to date, with the winger excited at his new contract.

“It’s a massive confidence boost for me to get this new contract,” said Foster.

“The deal was very easy to agree and I was quick to sign on the dotted line.

“I’m just really excited about what the future holds now.

“We know it’s a building process here at Bradford to challenge the big clubs again but we’re all hungry for it. I think if you’re have the hunger then you’re halfway there already.

Omar Khan has come in and bought the club and there is a tremendous feeling here now. The club is certainly going places.”

Equally pleased is Bulls coach Francis Cummins, who is looking forward to seeing the young winger develop even more as a player.

“Jamie has improved since he’s been here and how he approaches the game,” said Cummins.

“He said himself that he was probably a bit shocked with how hard the pre-season training but he got going and did some good things out on the field.

“I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him yet but he’s got to keep going as he was before he got injured.

“I wanted him to stay and he’s agreed, so we’re really pleased.”

With Foster expected to be the first of a few signings and re-signings, Bulls Chairman Omar Khan says he too was pleased to see the talented winger remain at the club.

“I am delighted that Jamie has pledged his future to us,” said Khan.

“He is one of our most popular players and a massive asset to the team with his tremendous goal kicking.

The fact that he was so keen to extend his contract shows the faith he has that the club is moving forward in the right way.

We will be announcing many more signings over the coming weeks as we look get the club back where it belongs.”
