Cowboys and representative prop charged with drink-driving

James Tamou

In a blow leading up to a crucial clash in the NRL this week, the North Queensland Cowboys have confirmed that prop James Tamou has been charged with drink driving.

The offence happened in the early hours of Monday morning, with Tamou pulled over in the Townsville suburb of North Ward with an alcohol level of 0.197, almost four times over the allowed legal limit.

As a result, Tamou has been charged with unlicensed driving and driving under the influence of alcohol, and is set to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on July Cialis Online 2.

Despite the charge, Tamou will not contest it.

The club are disappointed that Tamou put himself in that situation and the player realises he has to live with the repercussions that come from it as a result.

“The Cowboys are extremely disappointed, as is James, in these events,” CEO Peter Jourdain said.

“James is taking responsibility for his actions and is very remorseful that he has put himself in this position.

“This is his first offence. He knows it is a serious one and that he will have to pay a penalty.”
