Young Brisbane Broncos player signs with Catalans

France is no stranger to this young Brisbane Broncos forward, as Benjamin Garcia, an U20’s Broncos forward that has played for local French side Avignon will move back to France, this time to take up a deal with the Catalan Dragons until the end of 2015.

Having found his own way to the QLD Cup to play for the Wynnum Manly Seagulls and using his own money to pay for the trip there, it was an experience that Garcia enjoyed, as he now turns his attention to the experience he will have playing for Catalans.

“I’m very happy to sign for Catalans Dragons,” said Garcia.

“It was a good opportunity for me to play in Super League after a great experience in Australia. I’m looking forward to joining the club.”

Set to arrive in France before the end of the month, Catalans coach Lauren Frayssinous is pleased to see the French international at the club and has been a big fan of his for a while.

“He fast no faxing payday loans is one of the best French players of his generation and I’m delighted to add him to our squad. He is a tough player, he runs hard and he is a good tackler. He has all the basis to become a good rugby league player,” said Frayssinous.

“We want to attract and give the opportunity to all the French players to play into the Super League and to continue the club development in the years to come.”

Cristophe Jouffret, the Dragons CEO, said signing Garcia is a sign that the club is committed to securing local french talent from both overseas and within their own ranks.

“The signing of Benjamin Garcia is logical with the club policy to attract the best French players,” said Jouffret.

“We already have young talents coming through in our reserve team and Benjamin will be one of these French players who can claim a spot in the Super League. It’s great for us to sign Benjamin after his experience in Australia.”
