It was a defeat no-one was expecting last week at the hands of Hull KR, but Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson was pleased with the way his side bounced back, as they recorded a 40-18 win over the Leeds Rhinos.
It was another stellar performance from hooker Shaun Lunt who bagged a double, bringing his tally for the season to 18 tries but Anderson knows there are things to work on ahead of their clash with Catalans next week.
“I’m happy with that,” Anderson said.
“We came up against a team with a lot of people missing but they’ve been playing, whereas we’ve had some time off and everybody is a bit rusty.
“So there are some cohesion things we need to Pokies fix up and that’s why I’m looking forward to playing Catalan on Friday, because I know we can be better.”
He was also full of praise for stand-off Danny Brough, who he believes had a fantastic game.
“We had some talks in the break we had and that was one of the things we encouraged him to do. He must have had his best running game of the year so far,” said Anderson.
A Leeds side missing some very experienced players, it was a young gun who stood up as Liam Sutcliffe bagged a double, with Rhinos coach Brian McDermott admitting that the experience is good for the young players but put the loss down to some poor defence and fatigued players.
