Every time you look, there is players galore from the Wests Tigers joining the Cronulla Sharks and it has happened again, this time Blake Ayshford has joined the Cronulla Sharks, taking up a 2-year deal with the club.
The move was confirmed by the Wests Tigers, who also confirmed that Ayshford came to them asking for a release from the final two years of his contract, in order to take up a deal at the Sharks.
With the Tigers looking to ease salary cap issues, the departure of both Ayshford today and Pettybourne a while back, means the club are now in a good position to build the right culture at the club.
“Managing the salary is often a day by day proposition and decisions like this, whilst difficult, are correct for our long term plans” said Wests Tigers COO Grant Mayer.

We have some exceptionally big decisions to make over the coming months and with the Direction of our Board, I am confident that our future will be bright.
On Ayshford, the centre has played in 99 NRL games so far in his career and has scored 33 tries in the process.
With the Sharks on the hunt for an outside back, coach Shane Flanagan is pleased to have gotten his man, as the Sharks look to cement the centre position with some experience and versatility.
