Rabbitohs make a signing of their own as Tigers utility back joins the ranks

Joel Reddy

Recent weeks have seen the South Sydney Rabbitohs lose a few players but they have signed one of their own, with Wests Tigers utility back Joel Reddy signing with the club for 2 years.

The former Parramatta Eel and now Wests Tigers player will be at the Bunnies for 2 years and since making his debut in 2005, he has played in 117 NRL games.

Reddy also has representative honours to his name, having played for the City Origin side on two occasions and with his versatility across the back-line, Souths coach Michael Maguire believes he will have a lot to offer.

“Joel is a top quality player with over 100 games in the NRL and representative football experience as well, so we’re really looking forward to be adding him to our Viagra squad for the next two seasons,” Coach Maguire said.

“We have a number of young, up-and-coming players in our backline and his experience will be invaluable for them.

“From our discussions he’s showing the competitive drive and professionalism that we look for in our players, and we’re looking forward to welcoming him into our squad in the pre-season.”

A new challenge is always exciting for a player and for Reddy, he looks forward to the prospect of playing for the Rabbitohs.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Rabbitohs next season,” Reddy said.

“The Club has a good squad and a great coach and they look like being successful for many seasons to come.

“It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to joining the team in the pre-season.”
