James Donaldson

He has become a key part of their side moving forward and in a sign that the club also believe this to be the case, they have re-signed talented back-rower James Donaldson for one more season, with the option of a further season.

It was back in 2008 when Donaldson joined the Bulls and he has made 17 appearances this season to date, after he missed almost the entire 2012 season due to injury.

With a keenness to knuckle down and focus on his footy, Donaldson says his preference was to stay in Bradford and he looks forward to playing for the club.

“It was always my first choice to stay at the Bulls,” said Donaldson.

“I’m chuffed to bits to get the deal out of the way and I can now concentrate on my rugby.

“My manager had a look around to see what was on the cards but Bradford’s the best place for me and once the deal from the club was on the table, I didn’t want to go anywhere else.”

“It’s just like a new start again now. All the injuries are behind me Payday Loans and I’m just looking ahead, and I’m looking forward to further my career.

Equally excited to retain Donaldson is Bulls head coach Francis Cummins, who appreciates the commitment the back-rower has to the Bradford club.

“I’m really pleased for Donno because he’s not had the most straight forward career. He had a really good start and then he had some serious injuries but what he hasn’t done ever, is let us down,” said Cummins.

“We appreciate what he is about and he appreciates us. He doesn’t want to play for any other club and I know he’ll give everything he’s got for Bradford and that’s tremendous. It’s just what I’m looking for.”

With the potential to become an even better player, Bradford’s Deputy Director Robbie Hunter-Paul looks forward to seeing Donaldson do just that at the club.

“James is a tremendous young player and has lots of potential to be even better,” said Hunter-Paul.

“He has been here a long time now and has fought back from two really bad injuries to force his way into the First Team Squad. I’m delighted he is staying with us.”
