With few NRL opportunities knocking, experienced utility back Jordan Atkins has opted for a move to the English Super League, signing with the London Broncos.
Atkins, 31, enjoyed stints with the Gold Coast Titans, the Parramatta Eels and the North Queensland Cowboys during his time in the NRL and with this new opportunity, he just wants to play footy.
“I’m really looking forward to the 2014 season with the Broncos .Playing abroad in the Super League is something I have always wanted to achieve,” said Atkins.
“I’m very excited about playing with such a young and talented squad of guys and although the pre-season has been a bit unorthodox,we will all work hard together and embrace the challenges and opportunities throughout the year.
“I have no doubt I will learn a lot from all the playing group, staff and supporters. Exciting times ahead.”
The club are also pleased to have him on board and know that his experience will be a crucial asset for their side.
“He’s an experienced outside back, a really accomplished player who has been highly regarded in the NRL over a long period of time,” said Head Coach, Tony Rea.
