The country itself is relatively new to the whole rugby league scene but they are progressing and keen to make an impact and they have taken another step, with a total of 24 Spanish rugby league coaches receiving their level 1 certificates.
There were 6 teams present at the two-day gathering in Albal, Valencia – they were: Irreductibles Mislata RL, RL Albal Valencian Warriors, Rugby Sciences Valencia, CR Edetans Montcada, Alzira Rugby Club and UER Montcada.
For the Asociacion Espanola de Rugby League (AERL), they know it is a fantastic achievement for their coaches and praised everyone – including those from the RLEF – for the work they put in to make this possible.
“Extraordinary work of Martin and Tiziano and the great atmosphere created by the course. Thanks to the RLEF the work that was carried out has been unforgettable for all of Spanish rugby league,†said secretary general Aitor Davila.
Juan Pablo Range from the Irreductibles Mislata RL side said: “Everyone is more engaged and eager to grow this project now. Today we all have clear concepts and even more enthusiasm and love for rugby league.”
Also commenting was Valencia Sciences’ Gonzalo Morro: “Having professionals like Martin and Tiziano for the whole weekend was a luxury – today I feel like a great professional.”
