Roosters forward signs new contract

Isaac Liu

With Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Sam Moa and Sonny Bill Williams using taking all the spotlight for their form at the Sydney Roosters, their other young forwards often make a mark and as a result, one of them has been rewarded.

That is one Isaac Liu, who has signed a new 2-year deal with the club on the back of a solid season in 2014.

Having been involved with the club for a while now, the opportunity to continue working under coach Trent Robinson was one that Liu looked forward to.

“I’m so happy to commit to the Roosters, the Club has been great to me and I’m learning so much from Robbo. Hopefully I’ll continue to learn and improve with the team over the next few years,” said Liu.

With a good number of promising players re-signed, the Roosters are building for the future nicely.

For coach Robinson, the development and work ethic to succeed of Liu is an area that has impressed him.

“Isaac has worked really hard to get himself to where he is,” said Robinson.

“A quiet achiever, ‘Ice’ is a fierce competitor and with his great work ethic, he will only continue to grow as a player over the coming seasons. It’s really pleasing news for the Roosters to have him locked in to our long-term plans.”
