Tigers re-sign talented young duo

Despite some turbulent times both on and off the field for the Wests Tigers, re-signing talented youngsters is still something they focus on, as two more are locked up and retained within the club.

This time, it was Asipeli Fine and Dallas Graham who re-signed, both for a further two seasons.

With both players set to join the Tigers full-time squad for 2015, the club has the option of retaining the duo for the 2017 season also.

Fine, who has enjoyed a successful stint with the Tigers NSW Cup side, has played alongside some current first-graders in both the U20’s and the NSW Cup, and he was pleased to be able to re-sign.

“I’m really happy with the new deal,” Fine said.

“It’s really exciting to be part of the top squad next year and be able to train full-time.”

“I’m really enjoying my time at the Club and I was stoked when they told me I had been offered another two years.”

For the Mascot junior, knowing that some of his mates are still at the club, it made the decision even easier.

“A lot of the guys from the 2012 NYC squad are still at the Club which makes re-signing even more special,” said Fine.

“I’m looking forward to taking this opportunity with both hands.”

As for Graham, who is primarily a front-rower, the Kapiti Bears junior is also pleased to be able to stay with the club.

“It’s a really proud moment for me to re-sign with the Club,” Graham said. “I’m really excited for the future.”

“I came from a Rugby Union background and since joining the Club I have learnt a lot about the structure of the game.”

“I have made some really good friends at the Wests Tigers and the Club has been great to me.”

Having seen them in action, Tigers coach Mick Potter believes the duo have bright futures.

“Both players are really good prospects,” Potter said.

“Dallas is one of the best front rowers in the Under 20s competition and Asipeli has shown how valuable his versatility is this season.”

“I have been really encouraged by some of the young prospects that are coming through the grades at the Club.”
