Regarded as one of the best youngsters the club has coming through their ranks, the Canterbury Bulldogs have received a boost with talented prop Lloyd Perrett signing a new long-term deal.
The new 4-year deal offers stability for Perrett – whose older brother Sam also plays at the club – with the young forward excited at what lies ahead.
“It’s very good for my confidence to have the club commit to me for four years,” said Perrett.
The decision was not a tough one for Perrett, who is passionate about the club and excited about the direction they are going in.
“I’ve loved the club ever since I came here and I’m grateful to have been given a first-grade opportunity,” said Perrett.
“That made me happy and I just love the system here so I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
With one of the best coaches in the game at the club in Des Hasler, having him as a mentor played a big role in Perrett’s decision to stay.
“Having him was a big part in my decision and I’ve seen what he does with players from this club and other clubs, and I really enjoy his system,” said Perrett.
“Just about anyone can be a first-grader if they try hard enough.”
Another big factor in re-signing was having his older brother at the club.
“Sam has been playing along time now and I know he is nearing the end of his career, so I would love to get as many games I can alongside him, before he makes a decision on his future,” said Perrett.
