Jonathan Wright

He has played for his fair share of clubs and he is about to embark on a new challenge, as Jonathan Wright signs a 1-year deal with the New Zealand Warriors.

Wright, who has previously played for the Parramatta Eels, the Canterbury Bulldogs and the Cronulla Sharks is still only 27 and to date, has played in 91 NRL games.

The centre-winger has endured some tough times at numerous clubs but has offered impact when called upon, resulting in his move across the Tasman.

Wright is now the Warriors’ fourth recruit and with interest from rival NRL clubs, the NZ club are pleased to have the centre on board.

“Jonathan provides both experience and versatility for us in the outside backs,” said Vodafone Warriors head coach Andrew McFadden.

“He’s an established and really reliable player who has also played a lot of finals football as well as a grand final.”

With the need for depth and cover in their outside backs, the signing of Wright gives the club that and enables them to call on experience when they need it.

“We’re pleased we were able to secure him,” said Vodafone Warriors general manager football Dean Bell.

“His experience is important for us as we look to boost our depth and cover in the outside backs for next season.”
