Young Souths winger signs new deal

Aaron Gray

Bursting onto the scene this year and making an impact, the South Sydney Rabbitohs have acted swiftly and re-signed in-form winger Aaron Gray on a new 2-year deal.

The local Mascot Jets junior has so far played in 11 games and scored 7 tries in the process, and is pleased to remain in the cardinal and myrtle of Souths.

“I’m very proud to have re-signed with the Club and to have sorted my future,” said Gray.

“It’s been an amazing experience so far this year, making my first grade debut and having the opportunity to be a part of this team.

“I’m looking forward to contributing in the coming weeks and years at the Club and that starts this week when we take on Manly this Friday night.”

His enthusiasm and commitment have helped him cement a first-grade spot and he will only get better according to Souths coach, Michael Maguire.

“Aaron’s become a key member of this team and that comes down to his level of commitment and enthusiasm,” said Maguire.

“We’ve been fortunate to have a number of talented Souths Juniors come through the ranks in recent seasons and Aaron has continued that succession by coming into first grade and taking the opportunity with both hands.

“As a Club, we’re very excited and we’re looking forward to working with Aaron over the next two seasons to help in his development both on and off the field.”
