A new journey beckons for Penrith Panthers back-rower Sika Manu, with the veteran packing his bags, jetting off to England and signing with Hull FC.
The Super League side beat out several NRL and SL sides for his signature, with the need to strengthen their back-row stocks for next season.
For the last three years, Manu has been a part of the Panthers set-up and has performed well, with the club praising his professionalism and work-ethic over those seasons.
“Sika is an absolutely wonderful person. He is also a complete professional both on and off the field,” Penrith Panthers Executive General Manager of Rugby League, Phil Gould said.
“We at Panthers will be forever grateful to Sika for coming to our club when he did and for the tremendous impact he has had on our young developing players.
“We can assure his new club they have recruited a quality footballer and a quality person.
“We wish Sika and his family all the very best for the future.”
The new start for Manu is one that he looks forward to, as well as the challenge that lies ahead.
“I’m really excited about a new start over in Super League and the move was what was best for me and my family,” said Manu.
“I’ve always watched Super League growing up and enjoyed the physicality.
“I’m looking forward to a new challenge and now I am working hard to get ready for next year and finishing this season strong with the Panthers.
“I’ve played with a few of the boys who will be at Hull next year before and I’m looking forward to teaming up with them again.â€
