Jesse Sene-Lefao

One of the surprise packets of their forward pack in 2015, the Manly Sea Eagles have made the decision to release Jesse Sene-Lefao from the final year of his contract to take up a deal with the Cronulla Sharks.

The club decided that with the forwards they have signed and have at their disposal, that letting Sene-Lefao go would be the best thing for his career, thus allowing him to sign elsewhere.

During that time, he played in 38 NRL games for the club after making his debut in 2013, and playing in 3 tests for Samoa.

Manly CEO Joe Kelly admits the club is disappointed to lose the forward, but they were not about to prevent him from further opportunity elsewhere.

“While the Club is disappointed to lose Jesse, it’s important that he is given every opportunity to fulfil his potential with another professional rugby league team. He has been a solid clubman and ambassador for the Sea Eagles and we wish him all the best for his future in the game,” Kelly said.

The New-Zealand born, Samoan representative joins the Sharks on a 2-year deal and will join the club at their pre-season before Christmas.
