Former NRL winger re-signs at Castleford

Jake Webster

It may have been some time since he played in the NRL but many fans will remember winger Jake Webster, with the former Melbourne Storm and Gold Coast Titans winger extending his stay at Castleford.

The new 1-year deal will see Webster remain at the Tigers for 2016. After a tough first season at the club, 2015 was a break-out year and Webster quickly became a fan favourite.

The winger is pleased to remain at the club.

“I’m really happy to have signed for another year at Cas,” said Webster.

“The club and fans have been amazing during my team here. I’m really looking forward to getting back to pre season and kicking off the 2016 season.”

The club are also pleased to retain him as head coach Daryl Powell praises Webster’s ability.

“Jake Webster had a strong season in 2015 and we are confident he can grow further as a player,”

Powell added: “I’m delighted he has agreed to extend his stay here at Cas to give our backline both an experienced and a fresh edge to it.”

Club CEO Steve Gill is also pleased to see Webster retained.

“ Jake was great for us in 2015, his experience and his ability has been a great asset to the club and I’m really happy that he is staying with us for the 2016 season,” said Gill.
