Most recently, he has been recovering from a collapsed lung but his talents are well-documented, as the Penrith Panthers re-sign utility back, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.
The new deal is an extension of his current contract and sees the versatile back stay on with the club until the end of the 2017 season.
Nicknamed DWZ, the young Kiwi star is excited to commit to the club.
“It’s awesome to have committed to the Panthers for another year,” Watene-Zelezniak said.
“There is a lot to look forward to with our current squad, and all the young players coming through, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
With many players in favour of long-term deals, it is the one term-deals that Watene-Zelezniak prefers, as he believes it motivates him further to succeed.
“I’ve always signed one-year deals as it gives me extra motivation and makes sure I’m working hard to earn my place in the team,” he said.
“The Panthers have shown a lot of belief in my abilities and I am determined to repay that faith on the field.”
