Roosters coach signs contract extension

Trent Robinson

Seen as the man to guide the Roosters to potential continued success, the Sydney Roosters have given coach Trent Robinson a new contract.

The new deal for the Roosters coach will run until the end of the 2019 season, with Robinson drawing strong praise from Roosters boss Nick Politis.

“We are fortunate to have one of the game’s most astute coaches at the helm of our proud Club,” said Sydney Roosters Chairman, Mr Nick Politis AM.

“Trent is a man of high integrity whose unwavering pride and passion for the Sydney Roosters and the area we represent has cultivated a strong culture at our Club.

“His strong leadership and resilience, especially at a time when our on-field performances have not been up to his or the Club’s high standards, also says a lot about the type of coach that he is.

“But just as significantly, Trent has played a vital role in the development of all the players within our system, and it’s wonderful to know that he will continue to lead the Roosters for at least the next three years,” added Mr Politis AM.

Robinson himself is pleased with the move to re-sign, at a club that he knows well and has come to enjoy.

“The Sydney Roosters have been a big part of my football life, and it’s a privilege to hold this position,” said Robinson.

“That’s largely due to everyone involved with the Club – from our Chairman and Board of Directors, to all the players, staff, sponsors and members. There’s a committed team here and I’m proud to continue my role with the Club,” he added.
