Jason Clark

Every club needs a super star but every club also needs solid, honest players, who work hard and toil hard to become the cornerstone of the team.

One such player in that mold is Jason Clark, who today re-signed with the South Sydney Rabbitohs for a further two seasons.

Playing in 130 NRL games to date, the 27-year old made his NRL debut back in 2009.

A local junior, he was a part of the Bunnies 2014 premiership winning side and coach Michael Maguire is pleased to see him stay on board.

“Jason is everything that represents South Sydney,” Maguire said.

“He works very hard on his game, is a Member of our leadership group, is a loving family man, and is red and green to the bone.

“He is always looking at ways to improve his game and to help his team mates perform to their best every week.”

There was also praise for Clark’s passion and dedication both on and off the field.

“His dedication to his football is only matched by his dedication to his wife Lauren, his two daughters and the baby that’s on the way; and his parents could not be more supportive of his career and what we’re doing here at the Club,” added Maguire.

“Jason is a true leader within this Club and it’s fantastic to have him recommit for another two seasons.”

The decision was an easy one for Clark and he is also pleased to have sorted his future.

“South Sydney is such a big part of my life so I couldn’t be happier to be extending my contract here,” Clark said.

“My whole family is South Sydney, and the boys and the coaches are like a second family to me.

“We have a lot more to achieve as a Club in the coming seasons and I’ll be doing everything I can to help us return to the levels of success we’ve enjoyed in recent years.

“We still have work to do this season, and then we can prepare for next year and beyond.”
