Sio Siua Taukeiaho

Whilst his 2016 season ended poorly in that he suffered an ACL injury, there was no denying that Sio Siua Taukeiaho was a strong performer for the Sydney Roosters prior to it occurring.

It should thus come as no surprise that the club has opted to sign him up long-term, handing him a new long-term contract until the end of 2020.

Despite his current injury, Taukeiaho expressed his pleasure to re-sign with the Tricolours.

“I’m so happy to know that I’ll continue to be part of the Roosters family for at least another four seasons,” said Taukeiaho.

“I have real trust in Robbo and have learned so much from him and the coaches over the last few years.

“I love the Club and we’re a tight bunch and I’m excited to know that I’ll continue to work on my game and be part of the team we have here,” he added.

One of the Roosters best when the going was tough in 2016, Taukeiaho’s form and commitment drew praise from coach Trent Robinson.

“Siua’s commitment to the team is tireless and he’s worked really hard to get where he is today,” said Robinson.

“He is always looking at ways to improve his game and it’s great to know that he will continue to grow and develop at our Club for at least the next four seasons,” he added.

To date, Taukeiaho has played in 48 NRL games, 47 of which have come for the Roosters. In addition to that, he has represented both New Zealand and Tonga.
