A promising young player that is highly rated by South Sydney Rabbitohs fans, Zane Musgrove will not be going anywhere anytime soon as he re-signs with the club.
A new long-term deal for the hulking prop until the end of 2020, will see him add to his NRL games total.
Making his debut at the start of the 2016 season, injury struck for Musgrove but he did return towards the back end of the season to perform strongly.
Linked to other teams in the past, Musgrove is pleased to have re-signed with the club that he loves.
“I’m really happy to have re-signed with Souths and to get to play here with my team mates is a dream come true,” Musgrove said.
“We’re all prepared to do the work we need to do to be successful and I’m looking forward to the season ahead and building on what was achieved in 2016.
“Souths is a great Club and I couldn’t be happier to be staying here for the next four years.”
Rabbitohs head coach Michael Maguire sees plenty of upside in Musgrove and believes he can become a crucial part of the Souths side moving forward.
“Zane worked hard to make his debut last season and he knows what it will take to cement a place in our top 17 moving forward,” Coach Maguire said.
“He has shown that he is prepared to put in the work to achieve his and the team’s goals and that work ethic is why we see a future for him here at the Rabbitohs.”
Maguire knows that he and the club will have to keep working with Musgrove to develop his game as he challenges him to work hard for a spot in the 17 each week.
“He is still young for a front rower but he is showing the signs of what it takes to make it in the NRL and I know that myself and my coaching staff are looking forward to working with him to create more competition for spots in our front row,” said Maguire.
“Zane is one of a number of young, up-and-coming players we have developing in our system and I’m really looking forward to helping him reach his potential.”
