Mitch Pearce

A favourite of many Sydney Roosters fans and perhaps the key to their finals hopes in 2017, it is cheering galore in Bondi tonight with the announcement that Mitchell Pearce has re-signed until the end of the 2019 season.

The new two-year extension is a welcome boost for the Roosters just days out from the start of the NRL season.

Still only 27, Pearce is set to play in his 11th season of NRL and staying at the club was a no-brainer.

“The Roosters mean a lot to me. The Club has been a big part of my life, and there’s been a lot of loyalty,” said Pearce.

“There’s such a good group of people at the Roosters and I’ve made some of my closest mates here. I’m proud to represent the Club, and I feel like I’ve got unfinished business,” he added.

I’m proud to represent the Club, and I feel like I’ve got unfinished business,” he added.

Just as pleased is coach Trent Robinson who knows how crucial the halfback is to the Roosters side.

“Mitch is a Rooster and this is his home, so its great news for our Members and everyone at the Club to know that he will continue to play his role with the Roosters in the coming years.”
