Ava Seumanufagai

Perhaps a surprise to some given how well he has played, Wests Tigers prop Ava Seumanufagai will depart the club at the end of the season and take up a deal with the Cronulla Sharks.

The Parramatta junior joined the Wests Tigers in 2013 and made his debut that same year and to date, has played in 96 NRL games.

Going through a significant overhaul at present, Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said that they wish Seumanufagai all the best moving forward and expect him to perform well in 2017 whilst still at the club.

“On behalf of everyone at Wests Tigers I’d like to take this chance to thank Ava for his continued efforts while a part of Wests Tigers,” said Pascoe. “Ava has developed both on and off the field while with the club and we’re proud of the player that he’s become since making his debut.

“Ava has developed both on and off the field while with the club and we’re proud of the player that he’s become since making his debut.

“We wish him well for his playing career in 2018 and beyond and look forward to him continuing to do all he can for Wests Tigers for the remainder of this season.” he said.

As you would expect, the Cronulla Sharks are pleased to have signed Seumanufagai, as they look to reshape their own forward pack moving forward with his addition for the next two years.

“He (Ava) is a quality NRL front rower who we have been monitoring for two years,” said Flanagan.

“We are very excited to add such a player to our 2018 squad and believe we can progress his game to another level.”
