The subject of much speculation, the Brisbane Broncos have received a huge boost on the eve of their Rd 10 clash with key half Anthony Milford re-signing for a further four seasons.
The new long-term deal will run until the completion of the 2021 season and the man himself was thrilled to make the announcement.
“I’m pleased to announce that I have re-signed with the Broncos for a further four years,” the live-wire five-eighth said.
“I’m really happy and glad that it is all over now.”
Heading into what many describe as the peak years of a career, it was an important contract for Milford in more ways than one.
“It was big in setting up my future,” Milford continued.
“It was an easy decision when it came down to my family.”
Whilst there were other good offers on the table for Milford to move elsewhere, in the end, family matters and the decision was the one that Milford felt most comfortable in making.
“Family’s always going to be a major part of my decision,” said Milford, much like it is for so many players nowadays.
“It was an easy decision in the end and I just look forward to what the future holds.”
